    Ah. If it's not orange then maybe it's just my monitor that isn't set-up correctly. I'll have to look into that.
    Anyway, I like the placement of the author's name. It gives me a sense of some kind of construction. As if the name and title are blocks in a wall. It gives me the idea of strength somehow, especially with how you've made the rest of the cover. A solid wall against the elements.

    Very nicely done as usual.
    I have some very minor issues (as usual):
    Why does the blood look orange? Is it something to do with it as being aspirated? (Because there appear to be air bubbles in it.) What's going on to the bottom-left of the hand? I can't tell what it's supposed to be. Apart from those silly concerns of mine - and feel free to ignore them - it looks great.

    The movie "2046" by Wong Kar-Wai inspired me to this vector graphic. The boa and the butterfly come from me. I think that fits;-)

    Great work as usual.
    Obviously with this sort of thing there's no way that a viewer can know exactly what the artist was wanting to achieve but I have a few tiny comments:
    * Small skeleton on the left can be partially seen behind the "picture frame" (same with the one second from right);
    * Left-hand picture frame can be seen "in" the one to its right;
    * Second small skeleton on the left seems to be coloured by the blood it is sitting on (same with the third from right a little bit);
    * Third small skeleton from the left seems to be standing in the air bubble without bursting it.
    These are all tiny issues that really don't matter though. Just thought I'd bring them up in case you'd not noticed.

    If I was going to attempt such an image I would have probably gone for something more "vague and ephemeral" looming in the darkness rather than something that stands out so much.
    You could try knocking the opacity of the ghost way down and putting the figure slightly behind the door frame rather than in front. (You're more likely to snap a ghost when it's not so fully in shot.)
    Also, you could change the lighting as ghostly apparitions are very rarely seen in the daylight. I think you could get away with the light source being a full Moon if you darkened everything and lowered the colour range (somehow).
    These are all just my personal feelings so feel free to ignore them; I understand that you were learning a method more than anything else.

    I am doing InkTober myself but I only use Affinity Photo/Designer for putting the word of the day.
    Also I use it to adjust the scanned images a bit

    Best regards!

    Great work, Raymond. I agree to Garry, blue / turquoise and green / jade are the classic colors for the Aztec art. I think that would fit

    @Raymond: This is precisely the theme of the new novel for which this cover was made. I am very glad that this is recognizable, so great, thank you!
    Thanks for your great comment, and for your honest opinion.

    Hi all -

    One of my first draft versions for a wall decoration concept for Aztec, a potential start-up bar restaurant. Although the client likes it, I am sensing a few opportunities for improvement.

    The space under the name Aztec needs to be filled by another text block - either 'Bar' or 'Restaurant' - depending on where the image will be placed, or how it will be used.
    I am also contemplating whether the design needs more color, although the client feels that the overall sandy-color reminds him of his homeland Mexico. We are still playing with the ruby-red 'gemstones' which could potentially be recolored in blue to become more complimentary to the design's yellow/orange overtones.

    Happy with all else so far; looking forward to receiving your feedback, critiques and ideas.

    Cheers!
