  1. A portrait (vector, affinity designer), for me one of the best actresses ever. Love for Liz. https://www.bodobe.de/vektor-grafik-portrait/
  2. For this work (Affinity Photo) I used two free pics from Pixabay (now added to the post). The astronaut is included in Affinity's project folder (Discovery).
  3. Based on the Discovery Project in the new Affnity Photo Workbook, I placed the scene on one of the four main moons of Jupiter. I'm a fan of Stanley Kubrick, 2001: A Space Odyssey is one of the best science fiction movies ever. No further monolith was found in this cave, but something very spectacular. There is also a wonderful view http://b-bertuleit.de/discovery-jupiter-mission/
  4. @gdenby, I know what you mean. However, in the story (of the book) it fits very well, the cover without sky is also interesting. I don't think that a book cover must always conform to the title. It's must looking good and draw attention to the book. "About something more like a mound of snowcrank from hell..." That's not completely wrong ...
  5. New book cover design for the story/novella "Das kleine Stück Himmel" (Little Piece Of Heaven) by Alex Beltheim. Created with Affinity Photo, using various layer effects and the artistic text tool. Snow and blood are made with different spray paint brushes. http://b-bertuleit.de/buchcover-design-das-kleine-stueck-himmel/
  6. Thanks, Patrick, a great workbook Best regards, Bodo
  7. using affinity photo and some pics, thought you knew that
  8. Hi Max N, I needed about 5 - 7 hours for "Julee" (Unfortunately, I do not remember exactly), including the presentation. The eyes took up most of the time, they are the most important parts of the graphics. Maybe it can be made faster, but I like to take my time
  9. My new book cover design tutorial (Search The Woods) is part of the new Affinity Photo Workbook Hope my work is helpful and lets many people get creative. http://b-bertuleit.de/tutorial-fuer-affinity-photo-workbook https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/photo/workbook/

  11. Book was delivered yesterday, it's just great! Thanks, Serif-Team, and a special thanks to Andy for the fantastic cooperation during the project super! Best regards to all, Bodo
  12. Hi all,

I met Affinity Designer in 2015, joined Affinity Photo in 2016, and since then, I'm passionate about working with this suite as a graphic designer. And now I even work together with Affinity, which I'm really proud of. My book cover design tutorial (Search The Woods) is part of the new Affinity Photo Workbook. I hope that my work is helpful and lets many people get creative.

My special thanks to Andy from Serif. He was always very nice, also patient, and working with him was really fun. Thanks, \Andy!

  13. Hi GarryP, thanks for your comment The blood (red) is slightly lighter, but not orange. It's a bit lighter because the wound is not directly from the hand. The hand has touched a wound on the body, which is explained in the novel. It also rains, the blood is also a little diluted. But actually, the color of the blood is not really important. I would be glad if you could say something about the actual topic (and my request): I tried to place the author name next to the title (instead of above). - - - "What's going on to the bottom-left of the hand? I can't tell what it's supposed to be." What you imagine
  14. great retro style, as from the tv series of my childhood Great work!
  15. Hey guys, this is a new PreMade book cover design that I tried to use to place the author name next to the title (instead above it) Of course, the name should still visibly separate from the title and also be well recognized as the author's name. What do you mean? Titel/Info: Im Regen sieht dich niemand weinen means something like No one sees you crying in the rain http://b-bertuleit.de/buchcover-design-im-regen/
  16. Hi Garry, you have a really good sense for fineness, thank you very much for your attention
  17. Hpapy Halolewen (Affinity Photo) http://b-bertuleit.de/hpapy-halolewen/
  18. Great work, Raymond. I agree to Garry, blue / turquoise and green / jade are the classic colors for the Aztec art. I think that would fit
  19. @Raymond: This is precisely the theme of the new novel for which this cover was made. I am very glad that this is recognizable, so great, thank you! Thanks for your great comment, and for your honest opinion. you're fine, get back on the horse Thank you!
  20. @ Kasper-V, thanks for your comment, very interesting. Quay Brothers are very well known (i like the style), but the cut off heads have a different source with me
