Affinity Publisher uses the Hunspell Engine for spell checking and it also allows for additional Hunspell dictionaries to be added. You can download additional dictionaries from LibreOffice's GitHub page here but you can find direct links in the below post. 

Once you've downloaded the correct file(s), you can use them in Affinity Publisher by following the below instructions:
Please note: There are some differences between how you install Hunspell dictionaries for macOS/Windows, since we use the default spelling dictionaries available within macOS but it's also possible to add custom Hunspell dictionaries too.
macOS
You may already have Spelling dictionaries available but not active within macOS. To check, go to:
System Preferences >  Keyboard > Text and select Set up... from the Spelling drop down menu. Please check the required language if available. If it is, check the required language and restart Affinity Publisher for the dictionary to appear within the app.
If the required language is not available within macOS, you can install standard Hunspell dictionaries for use with Affinity Publisher. Hunspell dictionaries consist of two files, xx_XX.dic and xx_XX.aff. Copy both the .dic and .aff files to: ~/Library/Spelling
Once you have done this the language should become available to select from the Spelling drop down menu in System Preferences >  Keyboard > Text. Once you've checked the required language, restart Affinity Publisher for the dictionary to appear within the app.
Hyphenation dictionaries can also be installed in a similar way but they must be installed into a subfolder. Navigate to ~/Library/Spelling/ as above and create a subfolder with a name in the format of xx-XX ( substituting xx-XX for the locale id ). The dictionary comes as a single file with a name in the format hyph_xx_XX.dic - this file should be copied to the subfolder. Now restart Affinity Publisher for the dictionary to appear within the app.
Windows
You can add additional dictionaries and hyphenation dictionaries by going to Edit > Preferences > Tools. The default Additional dictionary folder used by the app is C:\ProgramData\Affinity\Common\1.0\Dictionaries but you can change this location by clicking Browse... - Please make sure that you specify a folder that holds all subfolders for each locale and not one specific locale folder as this will not work!

To copy any downloaded dictionaries and hyphenation dictionaries to the Additional dictionary folder click Open... but before copying your files to this folder you will need to create a subfolder with its name in the format of xx_XX ( substituting xx_XX for the locale id ). Once you’ve done this you can copy your xx_XX.dic, xx_XX.aff and hyph_xx_XX.dic files to the subfolder. Now restart Affinity Publisher for the dictionaries to appear within the app.

Please note: Any changes to dictionaries require that you restart Affinity Publisher

Oh and another question, is there a way to add multiple artboards when you just create a brand new document? So when that dialog box pops up and you have a check mark for "create artboard" is there some way that it can create multiples and not just 1? Or can we only do that after the doc is opened?

From a technical point of view, you are very right, Dave. But from a user’s perspective things look a bit different, in my opinion. The Layers panel presents itself as a list, and according to all customs and conventions, it seems natural not to look at the bottom of a list to find the first item on the list. I am quite sure that nobody reads a list from bottom to top, regardless of the technical aspects that might underlie the creation of it … so the confusion is all too understandable …  ;)
 
Never mind, the implementation of a Pages panel should solve this problem …  :)

Artboards are exported in the order of the Layer panel, lowest first. (That's also the order that objects are drawn in.)

I am working on a series of product images. These images will be displayed side by side in a web shop. The finished images are simple composites made up of two separate images. I want to make each of the finished images have the same proportion and product positions. I am using guides to do this. Rather than go through the process of setting up guides for each of the different product documents, is there a way I can copy and paste guides from one document to another?

Will Affinity Designer have a QR-Code generator (at some moment in time)?
 
InDesign & Swift Publisher 4 - just naming those two - have such a feature.
I would prefer to work only with Affinity Designer but alas, no QR-Code generator is present.
Maybe the Devs will consider this for a future release?
 

Just learning about the assets panel. Started testing it out. Transferred over a bunch of SM icons from AI to create this asset for AD. Added in case anyone has a use.

This is an issue we're aware of and is likely caused by having a Clipboard Manager running (or having Windows Clipboard History enabled) and a large object added to the clipboard.

The good news however is as Komatös says that it does appear to be fixed by some of the recent changes made in the 1.10.0 beta.

+1 For a permanent reset to "Regular bounds".
"Regular bounds" should be default, not the "Base box", it's just not intuitive.

I have been searching for a while now, but cant find any "select same colour" feature. All I can find is a feature request post from 4 years ago asking for this. Surely this rudimental feature has been implimented by now. Selecting and replacing a colour is one of the main benefits of vector work, to not have this seems crazy to me. I know the dev team is small and  your product is so superior to Adobe is so many ways, but missing fundamental features like this makes it unusable for real world projects. 
I hope I am being a dullard and a select same colour feature is available. If not please add it to the top of the list of features in the next update.

Any chances HKS and RAL spot/CMYK colour swatches are added?
