  1. It seems like a lot of the people who commented here like the old logos betters. I have to concur, I prefer the old logos, but it's okay eventually we will get used to the new ones. It's not the most important part of the software.
  2. I have used this course. I did not complete the project because that is not the kind of things I like to do. But I must say that I have learned a lot by using this course. The other thing that I think I should point out is that once you buy the course it is always available to you unlike Lynda. Udemy has no monthly fees. You pay for a course and you can always go back for what you might have forgotten. Okay a lot of words to simply say I highly recommend this course. Ronnie has done a super job. Not too fast, not too slow, well spoken and easy explanations. Thanks
  3. Congratulations for a job well done and a recognition well deserved.
  4. I don't know if this something that is often needed but I had a strange thing happen to me in designer today. I ended up with a couple of lines I had not placed on and I could not grab them to remove them. Phantom lines if you would. I solved the problem by saving, closing and reopening the file. It worked they were removed. A screen refresh might have been a good thing. Thank you for a great program. Love it.
  5. Hi, I am taking the affinity course offered on Udemy by Ronnie. But I have yet to figure out how to do some things that may seem basic to you. I would appreciate some advice please. In the image that I have created the hard way (one point at a time) I would need to have separate pieces for the different parts in the red squares. I can break the curves and adjust the points but is there a way to construct this that would be better. As you can see the lines are not smooth or even and I do need them to be of the same thickness throughout. I tried expanding the stroke technique but that did not work out as well as I would have liked. What I am asking is really how would you go about create something like this easily and of course better than this crude attempt. Thank you.
  6. LilleG thank you for the input. I tend to agree with you about the colors working out better without the starbursts.
  7. It is Hebrew, the 4 letters are shin lamed vav mim. The word is Peace, but means much more than peace. It is hello, good bye, but mostly it is completeness, contentement, wholeness, health. It is all encompassing. @affinity4christ15, I love the uniform, thank you!
  8. Thank you for the shift click tip. This is fantastic and will improve what I did. Thanks for the files too.
  9. Here are two words (same word with different look) I would like to know your opinion as to which you like best. Secondly this letters are made up of a bunch of shapes with different colors placed side by side. Sometimes I can make the triangles meet perfectly and sometimes I cannot quite get 3 different triangle points form a perfect union. Is there a trick or shortcut to get this accomplished? Thank you for looking and suggesting, critiquing even criticizing. I am a big girl I can take it. The idea is to improve.
  10. Thank you. I guess I missed having the node tool. I had the select tool. Makes sense now.
  11. Probably a rookie question but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere. If I have several curves but need to modify the strokes on them how can I do it quickly. It seems like that when I have several curves selected I lose the ability to edit them.
  12. Okay I am not a designer or an artist just an old grandma learning digital imaging. Here is my day's work. Don't know why I am getting a 550 error uploading.Fixed, I had to resize and retry.
  13. I can offer some help in French for non English speakers. Je peux assister les francophones qui ne comprennent pas l'anglais.
  14. I will be following this as I have a grand-daughter in the market for the new macbook and want to learn affinity photo. Thanks for asking what was on my mind.
  15. Same here, looking for a way to create and select outlines. Appreciate any help. Thank you!
  16. While I have a standard keyboard, I use the French Azerty keyboard as my natural input. When using affinity both photo and designer many of the commands only work when the En keyboard is selected. Is this something that could be fixed easily or I am doomed to have to learn touch typing on the En keyboard. This simple little issue is really slowing me down. Other than that great product.
