Hmmm... Today it works as expected. Yesterday I went and made the document in a version 1 app, using the exact same process with the exact same elements (an image and a rectangle as mask). Today, the exact same elements I couldn't get to work yesterday in Photo 2 work as expected. So, nevermind, I guess. Thanks for the reply

Hi, I just upgraded to 2.0 of everything, and now I can no longer mask. It used to be so easy to drag a layer under another layer. Now, I drag the icon image from one onto the icon of the other and both layers disappear. Sorry to be obtuse, but can someone explain what I'm missing? thanks

The problem I'm having is that the new version is extremely slow. Selecting and dragging text–in a document with nothing but text–lags, especially if I select more than one text box. It lags so much that the program is virtually unusable. I had to keep using it because I was on a deadline, but if this is the new performance norm, there's no way I'll keep using AD. The old version ran smoothly. I never had a problem with it. Either this version is unstable, or the program has grown beyond something that will run well on my 2015 Macbook Pro. I do have a Time Machine backup. If the updates come from the Mac App store, I'm assuming that means I bought it through that store. I don't have a specific memory of purchasing it.

Version 1.7.1 is virtually unusable on my 2015 Macbook Pro. How can I rollback to the previous version, and will I be able to open files I created in this version?

Ugh... this update is *so* slow and buggy. Really irresponsible to push such an unfinished work on people who are actually using the product professionally!

After updating I can no longer change the kerning on any text. In the image attached, I'm trying to change the desired letter spacing, but whatever I do with the slider, the value reverts to 0% and the text does not change. Unfortunately, I'm on a short deadline. Any help, appreciated...
