Those two files are the spelling dictionary. For hyphenation you also need a third file, hyph_nl_NL.dic.
You can find them all at the LibreOffice Dictionary project on GitHub: https://github.com/LibreOffice/dictionaries/tree/libreoffice-6-2-6/nl_NL

According to the linked post, you just need to copy those two files to the ~/Library/Spelling folder. (I’m not a Mac user, so I can’t provide any additional details.)

Have a look in your Character panel - as well as Paragraph leading, Affinity apps have Character Leading Override:
Leading Override—applies local override to selected text to increase the leading with regard to the paragraph’s leading you might have accidentally set that really low?

If low value in Character Panel: – You can type "( )" two round brackets, to get back your default from paragraph panel there.
