Hey there at affinity, love the product so far but this one thing is extremely disappointing. When I go through the font styles and select one but then decide I want to change this font. I have to ‘open’ the font menu and have to scroll all the way through the fonts styles A-Z to where I left off (yes I have a lot of fonts), so why not have it so the font list either has the option to close and goes back to its default state or stays open so you can continue your way through the font styles without closing the font styles list every time you touch outside of the list. I believe something like this would be a lot more user friendly and streamline your workflow. Hope I’ve explained it well *video below explain’s change* Cheers and thank you for Affinity! When I choose to resize a document and select the ‘measurement options’ eg: point, cm, inches etc the program crashes. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? iPad pro with iOS 17.2 - Affinity Designer 2.3.0

Thanx for a great app but why not, and to maximise workflow especially when you have a ton of fonts, why doesn’t the ‘selected font’ window stay open as in photoshop! Instead you have to go back in and scroll down to where you were and go from there. This happens whenever you select a font and is extremely frustrating. A fix would be great! Hey there at Serif I’m wondering if the ‘Choose Font’ menus could stay open when selecting fonts as every time I select a font it closes then to select another font further up the menus I’ve go to open it again and star all over. This would certainly help with the work flow. Also could the ‘Choose’ font menu be ‘Grouped’ in an alphabetical system with a drop down alphabetical categories? Just like the layers palette.

Hi there Callum here is the Star Template. Again just trying to find and use the ‘subtract’ option like the one in Affinity Designer 1 to punch a hole through the below layer with graphic/s from above Star_Template.svg

1. Why not have a ‘Duplicate’ option when swiping out on layer. 2. Could the layer also ‘highlight’ when swipe it. 3. A ‘lock’ layer icon might be handy to have on the layer itself or in the ‘swipe’ options

With AD V1 all I did to make one shape/object out of multiple objects was to make sure they were curves, select ‘add’ under ‘geometry’ and slowly add them together. With AD V2 I can’t seem to do this without using the pen to individually drag my pen through each tic-tac which seems very time consuming to say the least. Anyone else having trouble with this? Task: Create a square, create another one with stroke only and enlarge shape size to create buffer zone between them, now add some lines to bridge outline and square, select the ‘stroke outline’ & ‘mini strokes’ in the layers menu and select ‘expand stroke’. Now with all selected ‘add’ them all together to create a single object.

Hey there just wondering if anyone else I experiencing this, when holding down on create ‘new’ document there is no option to import from photos within Designer & Publisher V2. I am using an iPad Pro 4th gen - and the trial version of the above.

Hey there guys at Serif affinity, it’s been sometime as an artist that I was on here, enjoying the use of Affinity Designer + Photo. Working with these 2 apps for hours a day creating posters, flyers, photo retouching, 3D wall art & murals. Affinity was my go to app every single time to produce the latter. I’d transitioned a few years back from adobe on OS and found Affinity to be the only App that gives Adobe a run for their money. It was early 2022 when I became frustrated with the team at Affinity because certain bugs & glitches weren’t being addressed, I was angry as the updates weren’t happening at all and left the forum. Although all of the latter had happened I still kept using the app as my primary source of software to release my creative juices. Today I though I’d check to see what was happening on the Affinity front and lo and behold there were Upgrades…..V2, and that’s not all…..the long awaited Affinity Publisher was also now available for the iPad. I hit the download for each Affinity Suite Member. I briefly checked out Publisher and was impressed…..so long Pages! I can’t wait to learn the updates to Affinity V2 by checking out the video, and definitely can’t wait to immerse myself into one of (I believe) the iPad’s greatest Design Suites of all time. P.S Affinity, I’ll try not to ‘yell’ at you guys when addressing issues in the future. Cheers Dunksy

Updates Very Few & Far Between I brought this app 2 years ago as I was looking for a reliable app to use on my iPad day to day for my job as a designer. I found Affinity Designer of the iPad and was impressed with the tools and functions as I had transitioned over from Adobe Illustrator on the desktop. My joy of finding a decent workhorse for my vector designs was to be short lived. As I used the app I started to experience more bugs. I did report the bugs, taking screen shots and recordings, sending them on through. The were some issues that I could work though however there were some issues that were obviously common place as I found out from the forum. I send the hardcore issues though to be told, “thank you, we’ve sent them through to the dev team”. 2 years later and I find I’m here writing to you, saddened that what is an app with a lot of potential is going to the dogs. I posted my concerns on the forum and have found that there are many, many users fed up with the comment, “thank you, we’ve sent you concerns on through to the dev team”, only to find….nothing gets fixed, or in a hurry anyway. I paid for this app and I feel like I’ve been ripped off. 2 updates in 2 years is a joke. If you are considering buying this app, you will love the tools and options within but you will become increasingly frustrated as your concerns will fall on deaf ears. THERE SHOULD BE SOME ACCOUNTABILITY FOR UFATES TO APPS ON THE APP STORE. Serif Affinity you should be ashamed!

Here, here! To all of the above Moonatic Destiny…….when your trying to use this app for work, it does become a bit of a joke. I certainly wouldn’t recommend it to anyone whilst it’s in this condition.

Hey there at Serif, Is there a reasonable explanation as to when I select specific nodes on a layer to ‘copy’ and ‘paste’ it will ‘paste’ everything on that layer?

Come on Affinity get your act together with the issues I’ve personally had over the past 2 years not being addressed and this latest crash everything try to blood ‘join’ nodes, yes I have the latest iPadOS 15.5 and have restated multiple times. Affinity this program is going downhill fast. I really don’t know how I’m supposed to rely on this app for work having to save every time I perform a task even finding when it crashes ‘save’ didn’t take. I have multiple artworks in this app and now also because of the unreliability I’ve got to spend time exporting everything just so I can reinstall the darn thing. Put some work into it dev team, address the issues and provide a decent bloody update…..fast!!!!!! Below is yet again another video of crashing. Yes I’m pissed!! Ok guys at serif how about a much needed update to address some of these issues that have persisted for quite sometime. i believe we’ve only had a couple of updates in over 12. Months. When you use this every day for work the issues are an interruption to workflow and we need need regular updates to combat this as much as possible. It seems request fall on deaf ears 😡

Hey there at Serif, May I offer a couple of suggestions 1. Could we have a drag and drop option, for instance drag associated file formats directly into the app, either into a project folder or main area. 2. I mean a 2up window display so I can have AD and another app open side by side….I mean the iPad Pro definitely has show to have the realestate for it. Cheers

Hey there EmT. So I’ve reproduced the issue for you. Here I wanted to set the stroke from 0.3mm stroke to 6mm, however i it ‘again’ decided to randomise to 0.5. I’m using an iPad Pro 4th gen and Apple Pencil 2. This happened on my previous iPad and still remains an issue after reinstalling the app a number of times. It seems to be better using a finger however. Cheers IMG_1879.MOV

Not sure if these things are happening to anyone else. I have reinstalled app multiple times with the issues remaining for 6 months now. I use a 4th gen iPad Pro + Apple Pencil II + App version 1.10.21 - Affinity Design for iPad is an amazing app for artists. There are heaps of functions so I understand the more features you have, the more lines of code and the more buggy it could possibly be. I take my hat to developers @affinity. These issues/suggestions I have below are related to my experience with the app and may not be an “issue” for other artists/designers. 1. Type suggestions not working (leaves a gap without accepting word - issue began with the previous update-does not happen in any other app, or writing this for that matter) 2. Stroke (stroke thickness not applying - issue has been there since purchasing app 2 years ago) 3. When you select to ‘export’ and choose a format, enter name of file and then go to another format, file name disappears, so you have to enter it again - issue has been there all the time. App Suggestions: 1. Could we have a ‘enable/disable lock’ function on the layer tabs 2. Cut-Copy-Paste function by long press on the Apple Pencil. 3. thank you and keep up the good work!
