  1. Yes thank you. Sometimes I’ll put random vectors on a photo just to spark an idea, other times I get overwhelmed with little ideas for effects but the completed project doesn’t flow.
  2. Solid advice. I’ve also taken a screen shot. You are the Simon Colwell of Affinity
  3. Wonderful. What type of camera did you use
  4. That is nice. Does it have a name? How long have you been working on it?
  5. I am trying to make a visually appealing call for help with this yard. I have so many ideas how do I focus them and create a unique design out of this? Basically the end goal is for it to be a photo classified ad asking for landscapers or anyone to help get it under control. Going to use different graphical elements like vectors to design this But I can’t seem to be able to visualize anything that seems good. On the leaf for example I was going to include my contact information I thought it would be cool to have the flame in the grill but I couldn’t quite remember how to get a selection of the flame behind the grill and less I made a selection from the Grill a I thought it would be cool to have the flame in the grill but I couldn’t quite remember how to get a selection of the flame behind the grill unless I made a selection from the grill, maybe? Any ideas? I think if I knew everything affinity photo is able to do I wouldn’t be at a loss for creative ideas or many I need to expand my creative side I’m just not sure where to get ideas. Hopefully someone will have great advice to guide me on this journey. This was a RAW image taken with my Sony mirrorless A6000 kit lens - I love it the camera so far. Small and light I NEED MY CREATIVE JUICES FLOWING
  6. I used vectors before I even knew they had a name, well I used transparent png files not realizing how much work goes into making a basic @ logo. I still don’t know all the details of vector art. How long do you think it takes to make a 3D @ vector ? I love using these in twitter cards but it would be interesting to try and make one
  7. Amazing dedication. Those blend modes were always a source of intimidation, now I see hope with your comprehensive guide. I’ve always found everyone in photography and graphic design to be so much more friendly than other fields
  8. I read that part also “...doesn’t break my bank...” I would say if anyone is serious to shoot raw and using an editor such as affinity or photoshop then why stop there? To the OP go ahead and break the bank you won’t be disappointed at all with the new iPad now I’m not suggesting going into debt or overdrafting, just budget and maybe work a little overtime ~ don’t shrink your passion for photography and editing to the size of your paycheck, increase your paycheck to fuel your passion. @Mbutler110 just friendly motivation to not settle for subpar tools, something as fine and delicate as image editing requires the best. Let your tools reflect your passion. Liquid Retina, ProMotion & True Tone are amazing. You won’t be disappointed and neither will your photographs
  9. Very true. Everyone just work together, app development is challenging however affinity photo is far better than the competition so if everyone works together the developer team can work out these bugs
  10. Say no more. Apple will deliver the new iPad Pro with iPad OS will easily replace your computer. If someone knows the exact source and quote I believe I heard the A12X chip performs better than 93% of all computers in terms of speed even with full computer apps. Even these pro gamers with their impressive gaming computers can’t compete with the A12X
  11. This is the most troubling. What iPad do you use? Affinity on A12X has no problems. Do you have enough storage space? Sometimes that will cause instability in some apps
  12. I have to disagree with everyone. Go with the iPad Pro 11” with Apple Pencil. No reason to compromise on specs, also Liquid Retina with 120hz refresh is outstanding. The money you’d save by getting an older model or refurbished does not compare with the huge benefits the new iPad Pro has.
  13. I’ve watched a photoshop tutorial where the lady made a very realistic magazine cover. I’m sure she had a lot of trial and error, the one you made is good format
  14. Who ever does the tutorial videos reminds me of Eckhart Tollee also the tutorials are on par with Lynda.com and their very detailed explanations. I hear his voice every time I’m using affinity photo trying to remember a feature . Wonderful work whoever he is, Corel Draw had a lady that did a tutorial years ago on CD *20+ years ago now - I just remember she was the benchmark I used when grading other individuals ability to explained complicated design software & make it seem intuitive almost like common sense. Your guy has done great, making advanced multi step procedures seem as simple as pouring a glass of milk
