  1. Hi marcplatt, Welcome to the forum. :D Can you please explain what you do to 'store' an image? When I use the Export, Save or Save As… commands, I then choose which folder or hard drive I wish to save my files to, so I'm not clear as to what is happening in your experience. Screen shot of 'Save As…': Paul.
  2. Hi Rusty_Spanner, The Pen Tool toggles to the Node Tool, which is showing in your screen shot. Click & hold on the Node Tool to get the flyout & select the Pen Tool: Paul.
  3. Hi Rusty_Spanner, Can you attach a screen shot of the whole window, including the tools panel, please? Paul.
  4. Hi Dutch, I converted the .ai file to PDF, then opened it in Afinity Designer, which was then saved as .afdesign. The .ai file was not converted directly to .afdesiign.
  5. Hi Dutch, Nice of jmac to convert your files! I found this site that may be helpful: http://www.zamzar.com/uploadComplete.php?convertFile=ai&to=pdf It is a free online converter, that sends a link to your email for the converted file (I used Blur to mask my email, just in case it attracts spam). The results are great & seems legit, I've attached the converted files of one legacy Illustrator file here. Hopefully it is a good alternative to forking out for Creative Cloud! Paul.
  6. There's a bit of excitement about this on some GNU/Linux forums.
  7. Hi Tiago, I use the Document Setup dialogue, screen shots below: Before: After: Hope this helps. Paul.
  8. Despite the external editor feature being buggy for me, exporting still works. iPod 5th Gen sunset shot, edited in AP Beta & attached with history saved. Paul.
  9. Hi Jonas14, I don't appear to be having any issues with Safari/El Capitan: Paul.
  10. Hi Douglas, I'm using AP & AD, including the latest Betas in El Capitan Golden Master without any issues. I intend to upgrade my main system to El Capitan as soon as it's released. Paul.
  11. Hi Lojza, The callout shapes can be converted to curves & then the node tool can be used to move the nodes & reshape the callout. Paul.
  12. No worries, you're welcome. Maybe Facebook. I don't belong to any photography groups. I'm in Riverhead, north west of Auckland City.
  13. Hi Desmond, The Eyedropper tool is in the Swatches palette & also the Colours palette: It needs to be dragged to the area to be measured: Paul.
  14. Hi Desmond, I was interpreting your original description of the problem as a video card problem because it seemed that there was a lag between doing an edit & being able to see the result. If Affinity Photo is not behaving itself, try holding down the Ctrl (control) key when starting up Affinity Photo, this will re-set it & hopefully iron out any issues. Let me know if this works. Paul.
  15. Hi Desmond, One thing that may work, is to hold the Ctrl key down when opening Affinity Photo to reset the app. I'm not sure if the issue is with the Intel Iris Pro video card or not, maybe one of the devs will know. Do you know what other apps/processes are running on your iMac as well as Affinity Photo? It may also be a resource issue, if you have too many resource hungry or graphics intensive apps open. I've attached my iMac's spec & I have no video lag: Paul.
  16. Hi Desmond, What is your Mac's spec & what year of manufacture? It sounds like a video card issue. Paul.
  17. @ mac_heibu, That is precisely why I use Adobe RGB (1998). All my work is for print, the smaller colour gamut is more compatible with colour editing of CMYK files & RGB files that are then converted to CMYK for print. Paul.
  18. Hi Terry, What RGB Profile are you using for the Eizo monitor? Is it a different RGB colour space to the iMac's Apple monitor & what RGB profile is your Apple monitor using? I use Adobe RGB (1998) for all my monitors. Paul.
  19. Hi robertpastrana, It's a feature for showing 'snapping candidates'. It can be turned off if you wish, see attached screen shots: Hope this helps, Paul.
