  1. I have raised this issue once before but why do the developers insist on using GREY type on a black background instead of WHITE? It is not easy to read the small type for people with less that 20-20 eyesight. Why not make it an interface editing option?

I will submit this to the wish list again.

    Hi jackamus,

One thing I like about the Mac is the options for helping people with less than 20/20 vision (myself included)!

The zoom settings in the system settings could be an option for you in the mean time, a picture in picture feature means that wherever you point the pointer it is zoomed like a magnifying glass as illustrated below:

Also, adjusting the ui gamma may help:

  2. Hi jimmyng,

    Welcome to the Forum.

The App Store terms and conditions apply to all apps purchased via the App Store.

As long as you are using up to 5 Macs with the same Apple ID, then you can install your apps on these devices.

If you look in Purchased Items in the App Store, on a Mac you have not previously installed the app on, it will have an Install button next to it.

Hope this is clear & helps.

    Paul.

  3. Hi Signguy,

I tested both the AD MAS & AD Beta + AP Beta on my existing Yosemite 10.10.4 (14E46) installation & a clean install of Yosemite 10.10.4 (14E46) on an external drive.

I had not noticed it before, but the Open dialogs are just different between versions, along with other 'under the hood changes'.

    Screen shots:

So it's just a difference, not anything 'wrong'.

    Paul.

  4. Hi Signguy,

    Thanks for the info.

I was more concerned that Yosemite was at the same version number on both MBP's.

It's possible that there are issues with the Preferences on one or both MBP's.

I'm at work, on an old Mac Pro running Snow Leopard so I can't run Affinity here.

I shall pick this up on my Yosemite iMac at home in around 4 hours.

Hopefully someone else will be able to sort it out for you before then!

    Paul.

  5. I am not able to figure out why this (attached) file is exported as a blank svg from affinity.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Pratyush

    Hi Pratyush,

As @MEB has said, the AD Beta has a better SVG export function.

I found that your file exports best with no rasterising, screen shot of SVG zoomed in & viewed in Firefox:

SVG file I exported without rasterising:

I hope this adresses your question adequately.

    Paul.

  6. I'm using the free trial version, and for some reason there are no Colour/Swatches/Stroke/Brushes tabs to the right of the main window. I see from tutorials where they *should* appear, but that same area is blank on my version. Am I missing something???

I'm fluent in graphics programs in general, but this has me baffled.

    Thanks!

    SixTwo

    Hi SixTwo,

    Welcome to the forum.

I am using both the paid version & Beta Trial of AD.

Try clicking on the View menu & seeing if any or all the items in Studio are checked or unchecked:

  7. Hi all,

I've just noticed that if I set the default app to open .afdesign files to Affinity Designer, it also becomes the default to open .afphoto files and vice versa if I set the default for .afphoto files to Affinity Photo.

Am I right in assuming this is because of the commonly shared code base & does this explain why the documents have generic icons instead of custom icons that readily identify them as .afphoto or .afdesign files?

    Paul.

  8. I was able to open the file from Paul and see the text, many thanks for looking at that and solving the mystery! I'm going to ask our deigned to see if he can alter the originals. Thanks again!

    Michael

    Hi Michael,

If you get .ai files using LaB colour space in the spot colours for some objects, it is not too difficult to locate them in the sub layers in Studio> Layers:

If you want your supplier of .ai files to edit their file, then all they need to do is convert the Pantone colour space to CMYK – then the file will convert the Pantone colour to its CMYK equivalent.

    Paul.
