  1. Hi LilleG, Did you clear caches? Does this happen to Affinity without other apps open? Paul. :(
  2. @Bodo B, bitte schoen, sorry I omitted the all important url!
  3. Hi Bodo B, I believe the latest Betas do. Check them out. Paul.
  4. Hi Shmoo, It looks like they are only compatible with Adobe CC+. I doubt that they would even be compatible with CS. If it's possible to convert the brushes to a vector format that is Affinity friendly, then maybe?! Paul.
  5. Hi fmlphoto, Your 'ProPhoto' .icm file is in the Adobe folder (Recommended) in Application Support: Copy it to the RGB Profiles folder in the ColorSync folder & Affinity should now see it & you should be able to make it the default: Paul.
  6. Thanks, Rosa! :D BTW, the PDF is almost half the size it would have been if I'd exported it from the MAS version of AD!
  7. Hi Stephan, Welcome to the forums. :) In AP, Save or Save As… is for the .afphoto format exclusively. At present, you need to export any edits to a folder of your choosing, in a format that is compatible with iPhoto/Photos (JPEG,PNG,TIFF…) and then import the edited file into iPhoto. Paul.
  8. Here's the Dropbox link to my AD Beta file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/nvrd9tgvnzpds2x/CRGNZ0815_Cover-Beta.afdesign?dl=0
  9. This was originally designed by me in InDesign/Photoshop, ISSUU link here: https://issuu.com/jasonproductsltd/docs/crgnz0815_nz___australia___asia_201?e=0 I have produced just the front cover in the latest Affinity Designer Beta (1.3.5.1) — better file compression in the AD file & much improved PDF export settings, great work devs! :D Oops, I'll have to share the AD file later with a link! When full pre-press features come in, it will be great! In the mean time, I made the canvas size 20mm larger than the A4 trim size to accommodate my hand drawn trim marks with a 'bleed' mask for the background image. Also, the background image was edited in AP — RAW dev, sharpening, additional lighting effects. Affinity just keeps getting better!
  10. Huge improvement, keep up the good work! :D I'll post a file & a PDF on "Share your work" I made in this Beta, based on a job I did recently in InDesign & Photoshop…
  11. Thanks, MEB. When I noticed this, as a workaround, I immediately duplicated the path layer so that I could convert it to a selection without losing the original path. I then hid the path layer when I had no further use for it. That is how I produced my avatar that I use in this forum. Paul.
  12. Hi fmlfoto, I use an iMac 21.5", 16GB RAM, i7, Yosemite. I have not experienced any performance issues yet with the default settings, so I haven't tried changing anything. I guess that if you are curious, you can try changing things to see what happens! Paul.
  13. Hi Pentaxian, Good points. Assuming AppCleaner is not the issue, perhaps clearing caches/preferences may help? Have you heard of DiskWarrior from Alsoft? This is my go to if my iMac behaves strangely. Paul.
  14. Hi pentaxian, AppCleaner may be the cause of the problem, according to this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3718997?start=0&tstart=0 Paul.
  15. Hi fmlphoto, Do you have the ProPhoto RGB.icc file installed? If it is the Library folder on your system, Affinity Photo should allow you select it as your default. Paul.
  16. Hi fmlphoto, I only wondered about caps lock, because it can affect the appearance of the brush cursors in PS, not sure about AP - I seldom use caps lock.
  17. Hi Shorty, Welcome to the Forums. The limit is set by the App Store terms & conditions. 5 devices, for personal use, provided they all use the same Apple ID. Bulk licensing for business is also available. Hope this helps.
  18. Hi evtonic3, I've seen a similar comment in another thread. I have found that it is only the visual appearance of the input field that makes it seem inactive. I can tab to the next field in Affinity, start typing and it behaves as expected. Hope this helps! Paul.
  19. Hi Lianne, You won't regret it, the seamless way in which AD & AP integrate will knock your socks off, no other graphic apps compare in this regard!
  20. Thanks for sharing, I'm a long time fan of Carl Sagan; subscribed to the SETI program in the '90s.
