Thank you!!! I was trying to figure this out for a long time and gave up until I saw your answer today. So simple and I would never have thought to do that.

I selected all the objects in layer 2, then cut them, right click and delete layer 2. then go into layer 1 and paste. everything should be in the same layer now.

Using new 1.7.0, I have a text box highlighted and if I click the Paragraph button on the tool bar, it stays pressed and the program freezes. Requires me to use task manager to end the process and restart the program.
