Each country uses its own typographic rules and a good DTP operator knows how to switch from one to another depending on the origin of his clients. In French, for example, the space after the dialogue dash is adjusted differently according to the book publishers.

  9. The translation of Publisher into French, and probably into other languages, is a horror. How, where, can we translate the local into our own language, as is the case in the vast majority of modern software? That is extremely important.
