Hello, Patrick of London. It is unfortunate that Serif still has not finished some major functions of desktop publishing, but that does not justify going back to an antiquity such as PagePlus X9! That would fall from Charybdis into Scylla. -
Hello, I would like to evenly distribute a precise number of objects on a circle. To fix ideas, for example 12 stars with 5 branches and 12 spokes realizing between them an angle of 360/12 degrees (since they are 12). I would like the center of each star to be at the end of each ray. How to proceed efficiently? Thank you for your explanations. drapeau-europeen.afdesign

Hello, Callum. I can send you the image privately. There is two Affinity Designer files. The only difference between these two files is that the second is a simple variation of dimensions. Both files are exported to SVG files with the same export settings. Export the firts Affinity Designer file version 10000×4200 px then export the second Affinity Designer file version 1000×420 px. Hello, R C-R. It was a PNG matrix image that was vectorized with Inkscape. It contained some single-color surfaces that were filled under Inkscape by the fill function. The SVG file was then imported into Affinity designer. Afinity Designer decomposes the vector image in: text (text object), including one with rotation (text s object) ; group (group object) of 2 rectangles (rectangle object) some with a gradient. Path (path object).

Hello, I noticed an amazing thing with the SVG format. When I create an image with Affinity Designer in 10000 × 4200 pixels, the SVG image weighs 150 KB. When I resize to 1000 × 420, the SVG image weighs 28 KB. How to explain the difference in size of the file since the SVG format is a vector format? It's about creating a logotype in SVG for a responsible website. How to determine the optimal dimensions under Affinity Designer? Thank you for your explanations.

Hi, Petar Petrenko. If you ask in English to speak English, you are not sure of being understood. Not everyone really understands all languages. For my part, I master especially the most popular of them: the Google translate. 24th says: "Urgently please, add the possibility to add notes at the bottom of the page!". -
Hello, Several graphic formats have emerged before disappearing more or less, but they still exist. Here are all the graphic formats that seem to be referenced. The best known The curiosities Is it possible to create them all with Affinity software, or at least be able to load them into its software?

Each method has its disadvantages and advantages! Natural integers allow you to multiply and divide more quickly, because there is little number, but you can’t really perceive the difference between two ratios. The relative numbers lead to an imprecision accentuated by the number of figures available on the calculator, and it takes longer to type on the calculator but we immediately detect which is the largest ratio.

We totally agree. This is only an effective alternative in the meantime. Highly Affinity adds this feature. -
(Firstdefence. It's about getting an image of 800 × 1200, not deforming it, but thank you for these clarifications always useful.) I see. We must in fact forget the habits of the two aforementioned software. If I understand correctly, it's still a little longer than a simple "Redecut Image" function, but we do not screw up the original image and that is appreciable. 1. Resize the document from the Document / Resize Document menu. 2. Resize the canvas from the Document / Resize Canvas menu after removing the gold padlock and adjusting to the desired dimensions.

The argument obviously can not be retained even if it partly explains the thing. Regardless of this, let's not forget that Affinity started the development of its software for 5 years and that Publisher is the replacement of PagePlus created in 1991 by the same company. That said, I think we can be accommodating, because as PagePlus was mediocre, so Publisher seems to want to achieve perfection.

Thank you, Joachin_L and Carl123. It is indeed a second best. We have to copy the text in Word or Excel, create a table on Publisher, select the number of cells and lines corresponding (in fact more than one cell), delete the added column, readjust the table. That said, if I had known that, I would have saved a lot of time on my new desktop publishing. Let's say it's a basic feature, and that's where QuarkXPress and Indesign advertise.

français- gestion des colonnes
Pyanepsion replied to lechtigars62's topic in Feedback for Affinity Publisher V1 on Desktop

Hi, Sandy. Using PagePlus is inappropriate. We do not replace an electric Renault ZOE with a Fiat 500 petrol, because the air conditioning does not work yet! Until Affinity corrects this rather abnormal deficiencies, the technique consits to: Create a full-width text box with margins and a footnote paragraph style (text in general 83% of normal text size). Note the height. Delete a line and adjust the frame. This makes it possible to know how the text box of the footnotes will be according to the number of lines of text. Add a line on the entire width slightly above the text frame, typically 75% a padding of the size of a line of text. Then you just have to copy a footnote and reproduce it and adapt wherever you need it. -

The conclusion of Lesbillbell is of course excessive. The fact remains that the Footnote feature is sorely lacking. Because of this rather surprising lack, many hours are spent creating these footnotes, and then adapting them when the position of the footnote changes pages as the replay proceeds.
