Exporting multi layer tiff corrupts file

Hello, I'm unable to open tiff files saved with layers. So far I have lost two photos after processing. I tried opening in other software like GIMP and ImageMagik, one files reports invalid tag, and the other does not open at all. For now, I'm now saving all files to .afphoto instead of tiff, but would like to store layers in tiff (one color and one monochrome layer). Thanks for your consideration advance.
