  1. Tested on Affinity Designer on iPad Pro 2020: 1. Copy a group 2. Select another group 3. Paste style Result: Nothing happens. Expected: The style should be pasted onto the group selected last. EDIT: Seems color info transferred but wasn’t visible until I used the gradient tool. The copied group had a gradient on it. Why did it not transfer?
  2. Why isn’t there a separate selection tool on the iPad? I can’t find, for example, a lasso selection in the move tool. I also can’t hold down a finger to drag or click to add to the current selection. The “add to selection” button in the move tool’s pop up toolbar didn’t do anything for me at first. Perhaps it doesn’t support additional box selections? It felt very unreliable. Also there is no “remove from selection” button. Why does the layer panel close the moment I create a new layer? I wanted to move some objects into it. Why is it so difficult to scroll through hundreds of objects in a layer? Why do I need to open a second menu to lock and unlock layers? I don’t think I’ve ever been as frustrated with an iPad UI as I have with Affinity. Desktop, warmly recommended. iPad unfortunately is a hard pass right now.
  3. Same here, had to disable windows ink i the preferences to get it to work. Why, why, why is that stupid thing enabled by default?
  4. Holy shit I had to go to the forum to look for this! Why would affinity default to something that's almost universally hated by artists in Windows???
  5. Super weird... today, it works with holding down one finger... yesterday, it did not. Still, the fact that you need to wait for some blue circle to finish animating is still very annoying.
  6. I don't understand it and it's constantly in the way on the iPad. How do you disable it?
  7. Holding down a finger, for however long period of time, while tapping around with the corner tool does NOT allow you to select more than one node.
  8. Yeah, I think I can confirm my theory... Affinity, what is going on??? Back to Illustrator again...
  9. Look at this: Why would Affinity Designer do this to me? It looks as if Affinity swaps the positions of one of the newly created handles with the position of an existing node!
  10. Great! Missed that thread. Could a moderator perhaps merge these two?
  11. But what if there is a node in between that box that I don't want to select? You need a shift click selection then, and the delay Affinity forces upon users really hampers that workflow.
  12. Procreate handles the gallery so much better than Affinity. I was not able to find any way to navigate when I did save a copy. But you can't export in the .afdesigner format! (Man, quoting stuff in this forum sucks too... I tried to cut and paste text from the above comment in order to reply to each statement, but all I got was some random numbers.)
  13. Thanks! Glad to hear I'm not alone in this. Here's a refinement that might work even better:
  14. I mean, they're just the mirrored versions of each other. Is this a bug? This, I would understand:
  15. To clarify: Layers appear as if they're locked when imported from the iPad, but of you box select around them, you'll discover that they're in fact not. The workaround is to remove the lock from all layers on the desktop and then lock the layers again.
  16. I have this enabled, but it doesn't help. Affinity Designer on iPad constantly thinks me putting my palm on the screen means I want to rotate or zoom around the view. I can't remember when this happened last in Procreate. It happens CONSTANTLY in Affinity.
  17. OK, THE INTERFACE TO THIS FORUM IS DRIVING ME NUTS NOW TOO. HOW CAN i DELETE THESE BLOODY QUOTES??? Thanks for the help! I wouldn't have thought to check that menu, because the icon looks like a scaling icon, and also, why would something that's TOP LEFT on the desktop, be BOTTOM RIGHT of the iPad? That huge menu on the iPad has its right column near empty. Why not just merge that transform menu into the top one? I want the customizability you get on the desktop on the iPad, for no other reason than to turn the iPad UI to the desktop one so I don't have to come here to ask for every. Single. Feature. It's so unintuitive.
  18. This is desktop: This is iPad: Why is there such a stupid difference between the two interfaces? I understand everything on the desktop version, but almost nothing on the iPad version.
  19. I'm trying to select two nodes on an object, but holding down a finger while selecing the second node (a guesture approaching industry standard) doesn't seem to work. Also, Affinity Photo on the desktop has really great "add", "subtract", "new" selection mode toggles, but I see none of that in Affinity Designer on the iPad. EDIT: Oh... I need to hold down my finger and wait until some weird, blue circle under it has finished animating?
  20. I can't find a Share button in Designer on iPad. Do I really have to change the default save location from iPad to iCloud and save a new copy of a file just to be able to export it to iCloud? (Also, since when is "close" the same as "delete"? Absolutely crazy, imo.)
  21. Are there only sharp and smooth nodes in Affinity? Not pointy, ie nodes with control handles but they can be at a different angle on each side of the node?
  22. Is the gradient tool even in Affinity Photo vector based? It doesn't matter if I rasterize my layer, the moment I use the gradient tool on it, it overwrites everything, even if I leave one end of the gradient transparent! Just to do a mask that looks like this, I had to do three layers and merge them and then convert to a mask: It took ages especially since the bloody gradient tool for some ungodly reason reverts to white and grey every bloody time I select it anew. What am I missing here, or does Affinity have a really poorly optimized workflow here?
