100+ for supporting RTL languages like Arabic and Hebrew. your apps are great, but i can't purchase Affinity without this features.

When I identified that there is no RTL support in affinity, I had exactly the same feeling... RTL support is not a + feature, its simply "broken' without this support... When a program is cutting out half a world from their programs, Its not possible to get really popular.

It sound like they don't realize how important it is for an updated application to provide this kind of support...they are cutting out the whole middle east who are writing rtl natively, and hundreds of thousands in other countries who needs it at least at times.

What a shame indeed that such respected developer find it so difficult to implement RTL, while other smaller (single) developers do provide it.

I’m desperately looking for an alternative to InDesign so I can break free from Adobe’s subscription model, and I’d hoped this would be it.
Unfortunately, lack of support for non-Latin text is a deal breaker for me, as I do lexicographic work and often need to input multiple different languages in multiple different scripts in the same paragraph. Are there any plans to add support for right-to-left languages (e.g. Arabic) and complex scripts (e.g. the various Indic languages)?

Whenever we ask for RTL and complex script support they keep breaking our hearts with replies like: not planned for any time soon... At the moment and in the foreseeable future, the only serious alternative to inDesign is the lovely open source software Scribus. I'm so glad we have it. Affinity Publisher? Wonderful software but can't be taken seriously without RTL and complex script support.

I also need RTL support and have been waiting for it for years. I can't use Affinity products professionally, no matter how much I love them, without the ability to use Arabic or Hebrew text.  At the very least, a work around would be appreciated, or an updated timetable. I'd like to purchase Publisher, but if I'll have to wait years for RTL support then I won't have a use for it.

No, it does not, yet. None of the Affinity applications have support for languages that are written from right to left, nor vertically.

does the Publisher support Arabic writing from right to left? It seems that the beta version only puts the letters but does not connect them logically? BTW same problem I am facing with Affinity Photo. I appreciate your reply

I'm new to affinity, just downloaded the trial for Designer and Publisher, and i'm really impressed, it's AMAZING! i'm ready to stop my Adobe subscription right now, and to purchase the affinity tools to get my work done
But... RTL support is a must for my work. so unfortunately i will have to wait

I love Publisher, it's working well, I only have one problem. It would be great if you make possible hebrew letters order (from right to left). Now the letters are turning the wrong way when I'm copying text with hebrew words. Or I don't know something about the functionalities. In this case, please help

+1 please for adding RTL support.  I have some customers who use RTL language sets, but I'm unable to use Affinity to meet their needs.  

Not supporting RTL is the absolutely worse anti-feature Affinity currently has. You're outing half of the freaking world! Be PC, it makes tons of dough these days.

We don't need the whole interface to be in Arabic, we just need the text tool to support RTL typing.
I don't think this is hard to do!
