Yes, offline activation is needed even now especially for security reasons.

So I have added a Live Warp to some text (The top "Hello World"), the if I add some more text to the warped text, it doesn't consider the new edges and it doesn't seem anyway to redraw the source warp points.

Instead of bitching about it, let's see how the Export window could've been done. This is just something I came up in few minutes. I'm quite sure you guys will come up with something much much better. I'll give it some time later on, too!
Ideas for different UI elements are also welcomed!
This is by no means to make fun of Serif's UI experts, just to give them some ideas for parts of UI that could've been done better.
Thanks in advance for your input!

An option to convert Spot colors to CMYK or RGB would be awesome.
Thanks for the info about the "press ready" black conversion, which profile do you recommend for exporting to Print On Demand platforms like KDP, lulu, IngramSpark...
And lastly, Serif should prioritize features that make the apps work for large teams in professional environments like RTL and CJK languages support, print, installation files and collaboration. This is the fastest way to make more money selling multiple licenses.

Distill7 reacted to valcoholic in Infographics, Charts, Graphs
Hi, I'm an infographic designer who did this for years with the Illustrator/Indesign-combo. Please, please, please do something for graphs, infographics, piecharts for Affinity Designer/publisher. I know, there is a basic piechart-builder, but that only works with one segment and would only allow very simple graphics. I do work in magazine production and do infographics for print and web on a daily basis and always have to rely on illustrator's tools which are OK but always seem like they haven't been overhauled for decades. Of course this woul have to go along with data (csv) import and stuff but if done right, you could really reach a niche that doesn't get so much support despite infotainment being among the rising stars in media.
So pretty please, hear my prayers. In editorial design, having the ability to work in Publisher, jump into the designer-persona to create an infographic and jump back to publisher for the layout parts would be an amazing workflow. As copy-pasting contents between Illustrator and Indesign doesn't work so well, you still have to save Illustrator-files to then import them into Indesign. Its completely bonkers! I know this has been a request for many with V1, so I'm back to fight the fight! Infographics for everyone!

Distill7 got a reaction from Rudolphus in Feature Request: Mesh Warp - Add "Shift" to constraint handle drag
I use the Mesh Warp to extend the background of some images. But there is no option to constraint the handle drag horizontally or vertically like in the perspective warp or most of the other dragging tool. It's much a needed option, especially on image that fit horizontally or vertically only. I don't think this should be a hard one, so please add in the next update.

Distill7 reacted to Kal in Make toolbar and toolbox dockable in Separated Mode; force windows out from under docked UI elements so that UI chrome is accessible; make Zoom [+] (Opt.+Green Button)/Window>Zoom command adhere to HIG
A heads-up everyone… Affinity has heard our cries! They have released an article, ironically titled 'Increase your efficiency with Affinity’s Separated Mode'. Therein, they extol two of the benefits of floating panels: working with multiple displays (big focus on this), and seeing two views of the same document side-by-side. At the bottom is a kind of FAQ section titled 'Separated Mode window management tips', which starts by addressing some potential confusion with the full-screen view in macOS. But they finally get to the point here…
They left out a few minor details in those instructions so I'll flesh it out for everyone:
Hold down the Option key and double-click any corner of the first window. Click Command-Backtick/Tilde (`~) to reveal the second window (which will have been completely obscured in step 1). Hold down the Option key and double-click any corner of the second window. Drag the left edge of the second window to the centre of the screen. Click Command-Backtick/Tilde (`~) to switch back to the first window (which will have its right edge obscured by the second window). If the right edge of the first window is obscured by the Studio panels, press Commmand-Shift-H to hide the Studio panels (or the Tab key to hide the entire UI). Drag the right edge of the first window to the centre of the screen, until it snaps to the edge of the second window. Select the second window and drag its right edge to where you estimate the Studio panels won't obscure it. If the top edges of either window are obscured by the Toolbar, press Command-Option-T to hide the Toolbar (or the Tab key to hide the entire UI). Select the first window and drag its top edge down to where you estimate the Toolbar won't obscure it. Select the second window and drag its top edge down until it snaps to the top of the first window. Restore the visibility of the Toolbar and Studio Panels with the same shortcuts you used to hide them. If parts of your windows are still obscured by parts of the UI, repeat the above steps or tweak as required. So there you have it folks, the official response from Affinity on the recommended way to view two windows side-by-side! I hope that's cleared it up for everyone. 🙂

You should be looking into font creation software like FontForge or FonLab. It doesn't make any sense to add font functionality into a vector software and I don't know of any that does that.

Distill7 got a reaction from shushustorm in Affinity 2: My personal opinion
What he said is that the universal license requires you to connect to the internet to activate it. In case someone can't, like corporations doing it for security reasons, then they can't activate it. If outage or a disaster happens to Affinity servers, or if they decided to shut them down, you won't be able to install it on new hardware. This means you lost your right to use it.

Let me add from the side.
In Japan, vertical writing is used not only in ancient texts, but also in novels, manga, and other familiar texts.
Therefore, software that does not have a vertical writing function is not the way to go.

Actually you got all the updates included in the version you purchased that the rest of us, who bought it before you, had to wait for!
Technically, either we should have got it cheaper, or you should have paid more, because you now have software with more updates than the versions other people bought years ago! 😉
