  1. You are, of course, absolutely correct. Thank you. Since I last wrote I did little bit of research and also tried creating a macro (my first time) and came up against the very problems you mention. I think I’ve exhausted my search on this subject, you will be happy to know. I’ve learned a bit in the process and won’t be shy in future about seeking help on the forum. Your doing a brilliant job. As previous, your method for making the vignette suites my way of working. Sincere thanks
  2. Hi smadell I've come back to say that I could do with a little more help and am not sure if I should be asking you or putting out a general question to the forum? I have now stored three 'Macros' for possible use in future with regard to Vignettes but still much prefer the one you have supplied. I would like advice on how to store that as a Macro. Can you help? I have read the "How To" about Macros but am a bit hesitant to try as I am not sure if I have to do it with or without and existing image (Photo) present on the screen? Best regards Kogios
  3. I have tried a few things now and wish to thank you for the simple and best solution I have seen so far. I will be using your solution for the foreseeable future. Again, my sincere thanks,
  4. CUSTOM VIGNETTE TRICK from Olivio Sarikas This looked good and seemed promising and I had four attempts at making it go. Unfortunately I just kept losing the Levels Adjustment Palette (It just disappeared at each stage) and in the end just gave up trying to keep it on top. I think I read somewhere that someone else had a similar problem. JOHNY'S POWER VIGNETTE by Jakerlund I liked this and had several attempts to use it on single images and it worked well, however when I tried to copy the "action" to other images I couldn't get the adjustments to appear. I may be missing something basic in the instructions. I'm going to try the Macros you mention asap. I should tell you I am most happy with the simplicity and ease of use of the method sent to me by smadell which so far ticks all my boxes. Sincere thanks for your help. It is very much appreciated and so good to see and receive your enthusiasm.
  5. I've just tried it and it's excellent with this addition I also played around with colours with this action for the first time too and I'm even happier to use it in future. I'm a member of a photography club and this will add strength to what I submit in future. I'm plowing a path for Affinity Photo with the club against Photoshop and have a couple of others changing too. I also wondered why you hadn't used "feather" in some way when structuring it but, as newcomer, my knowledge of this is severely limited so I am most happy with options you've given me. Thank you again.
  6. Brilliant. I've now had a chance to give a few tries and it is exactly what I wanted. Many Many Thanks.
  7. I have the subject of my image in the "thirds position" and on want to vignette around it from that position. It has to be a variable diminishing vignette (not hard). How do I do it? I know I can do it be remounting my image on a new canvas, positioning to suit and then vignetting and re cropping but that seems such a long way around the problem. Any ideas or am I missing something basic?
