RM f/g got a reaction from Dave42 in Importing large docx text with endnotes into Publisher V2
Or:
1. place text in on page 1,
2. convert endnotes to footnotes,
3. autoflow text, convert footnotes to endnotes.
Then again: if you have to insert images and tables, you may have to use the seven steps method descibed above anyway.

RM f/g reacted to NotMyFault in Scanner import
You better use a native scanner app, and save as tiff file preferably with RBG/16 format. Then open the file in Photo.
This workflow avoids multiple issues, and gives you consistent results on every OS, with any scanner.

RM f/g got a reaction from MikeTO in limited usability of rotation cursor
This happens also with Affinity version 1 / Monterey, but not with version 1 / Mojave.
So it seems related to the OS version.

RM f/g got a reaction from Paul Mudditt in Affitniy Designer - PDF Export - PNG files not sharp
In the V1 document, the logo is eight times as wide as in the V2 document: 85 vs 10 mm. Therefore 8 times more pixels on export.
I took the liberty to vectorise the logo in Inkscape. Hope it's usefull.

RM f/g got a reaction from Old Bruce in limited usability of rotation cursor
When the cursor of the move tool is placed near one of the corners of a selection box, this cursor turns into the rotation cursor (bent double headed arrow). As expected.
Then when I click to rotate the selected object, most of the time the cursor changes into the scaling cursor (straight double headed arrow, 45 degrees angled).
I see some room for improvement here.
This occurs in all three apps.

Make sure you have 'Show Tools' checked in View menu.
In the Tool Box choose the 'A' button.

RM f/g got a reaction from Callum in Publisher: Rotating a gradient in a text decoration fill/stroke
Click text with fill tool, now the endpoints of gradient appear.
Click endpoints and move around freely. At least in Designer. Haven't tried the other apps.

RM f/g got a reaction from Wosven in Part of page not printed
Thanks for your contributions, everyone.
This evening I'll have a closer look at the files Legarto sent. Thanks a lot for your trouble.
At the moment I tend to return to the safe side and stick to pdf/x. It's more work on the ads, changing them to pdf/x before placing, but if that's what it takes…
The typo: thanks for pointing this out, Wosven. I saw it has actually been there since december 2019. Nobody noticed before. And I don't usually read everyting I place. I also rewrote the sentence, so now it breaks after the slash (like in the original InDesign file).
I also traced the drawing of the newspaper man and placed that vector file, so that's less prone to adventurous behaviour in a next issue.
On the side: ads supplied can be made in Word or Powerpoint and not necessarily in the desired size. But even ads made by a professional (?) designer have to be checked. I remember an ad which had pantone colours, same colour number, but mixed coated and uncoated versions. Looked fine on screen…

RM f/g got a reaction from Anklebuster in Adding Pages in the Middle Causes Content Displacement
I ran into this phenomenon a few times back in my Indesign days. It taught me not to insert an odd number of pages in a document with two page spreads.
Inserting an even number of pages never gave any trouble.
Whenever I do need a single page inserted, I insert two pages and manually move content to the extra blank page.
If there is a way to insert a single page into a document with two page spreads without these challenges, I would like to know as well.

RM f/g got a reaction from shushustorm in Touch & hold: Include Duplicate instead of just Copy, Paste
Doesn't cmd/ctrl + J do the trick?
Guess not...

RM f/g got a reaction from Old Bruce in why are these objects semi-transparent?
I think some lines have transparency.
With multiple lines selected, Designer shows the opacity of the bottom layer.
Have you checked the lines separately?

RM f/g got a reaction from Dan C in Crash report when closing Publisher
Looks like what I experienced. One of the dictionary files hadn't been downloaded correctly and appeared to be a html file instead of a text file.

RM f/g got a reaction from GaMeOveR in Can't edit this svg
Opened the file in illustrator. It has a pattern swatch applied which Affinity doesn't recognise.
Expanded the pattern and saved to pdf. See attachment.
Hope it helps you on your way.

When you option-click the Triangle Tool in Designer or the Rectangle Tool in Publisher you will see there's a Cat Tool as well...

Does the text frame have an ‘inset’ (studio > text frame > general > inset)?

RM f/g got a reaction from Ninjas in Convert old Adobe Pagemaker Docs
Outdoorslover
My InDesign CS6 opens Pagemaker documents. With the help of Peter Kahrels Batch Convert script I can convert a bunch of Pagemaker files to IDML in one go.
These IDML files can than be openend in Publisher.
If I can help you out with that, just let me know.

If it's your employer's pc, shouldn't rather your employer buy a license?
