It took my APub 5 seconds to open this file.

On opening the pdf, did you have ‘Group lines of text into text frames’ checked in the pdf options dialog?

I removed all nl-NL dictionary files from folder ~/library/spelling.
And yes, it makes a difference:
– no more 'unexpectedly quit' messages;
– no more hyphenation.
Applied settingsIn System Prefs > Keyboard > Tekst > Spelling: Dutch
In APublisher
– Text Style > Language > Spelling: Dutch
– Text Style > Language > Hyphenation: Auto (there is no option 'Dutch' in the ‘Hyphenation’ this list, but choose any other language from this list and the text will hyphenate, be it in onorthodox places)
– Text Style > Paragraph > Hyphenation: Use Auto Hyphenation: yes
RemedyRestored file ‘hyph_nl_NL.dic’ in subfolder ’nl_NL’ inside ’spelling’ folder (not the nl_NL.dic and nl_NL.aff files). Now hyphenation works again without ‘unexpectedly quit’ messages.

I have installed an extra nl_NL dictionary. I believe because the abbreviation in Publisher didn't work as expected.
I'll remove it and see what happens.
Thanks.

Having saved my file and quit Publisher, after a while (20–30 sec) I often get the message that Publisher unexpectedly quit.
Now, for me it didn't quit unexpectedly as I quitted the program myself and didn't see anything extraordinary happening, so I'm a bit puzzled here.
Happens with 10.1 retail and 10.2 beta and earlier with 1.9 as well.
Crash report attached.
MacOS 10.4.6 Mojave

For me it was the transparent part of the png that caused the problem.
-
Looks familiar to me.
I would say: give it a try without transparancy. Try using a clipping path instead.

I agree with Walt. It's not this handle on the outer bottom right corner accidentaly used.
It's somthing in the software.

What you describe reminds me of this:

In the layers panel, select a symbol and expand.
Select any or all of the objects within the symbol and change.
All symbols are updated instantly.
This doesn't work if you select the symbol itself (on the artboard or in the layers panel). Then only the selected symbol is changed.
I suspect that's what you're doing. As I did at first.

In APhoto on my Mac, I click ‘Assistant Options’ in the toolbar. Then ‘Develop Assistant’.
There I change Raw Engine from ‘Serif Labs’ to ‘Apple (Core Image RAW)’.
When I open your file now, I don't see any pink haze.
I Suppose there's a similar option in Windows.
Worth to give a try.

The only way I found thus far to change the width of a column is by dragging (in the grey bar on top of the table) while pressing the shift key.
-
I fear the baseline shift in the character panel is somewhat buggy.
Clicking the up-arrow gives values 1 - 11 - 111 - 1111 etc.
Clicking the down-arrow also gives remarkable results.
Having checked the retail version and both versions of Publisher, I see the same behaviour there.

Hi
In print dialog choose ‘Document Layout’ (below Paper Size).
Then Model: Tiled
Overlap: as desired.
