Same problem here. All my fonts that show no glyphs in the glyph browser appear to be PostScript Type1.

Indexing of Images & Tables
RM f/g replied to Beno's topic in Feedback for Affinity Publisher V1 on Desktop
If it's similar to how a table of contens works, can't you just make a second and third table of contents refering to the captions of images and tables? -
Thanks for your hint. Myself, I'm Mac only too. I'll have a closer look at BBedit. Who knows?

Old Bruce, could you give a hint towards what this ‘something’ would be? I have been thinking of this solution. ’Something’ would have to support footnotes, so most likely a word processor.

I was migrating one of my projects to AfPub but gave up when I found out PDFs aren't placed as an image – as expected. It looks like benwiggy workaround (thanks) – convert the PDFs to EPS before placing – makes it possible to use AfPub for this project (with placed ads, like topic starter) anyway. Still, if I remember correctly, fonts converted to curves/outlines don't print as well (somewhat ‘bolder’) as the glyphs they represent.

Scripts can really speed up the process. Working with large bodies of text, the first thing I do after importing text (in InDesign) is run a script which deals with a lot of sloppy typing. It searches and replaces for example double spaces, double tabs, tab + space, carriage return + tab, tab + carriage return, carriage return + space, space + carriage return, space + ")", "(" + space. About 40–50 find/replace actions done in a seconds. Imagine having to perform those one by one yourself.

Exporting Magazine to Pdf shrinks it
RM f/g replied to World View's topic in Feedback for Affinity Publisher V1 on Desktop
In case of a pdf, what COMMAND + I in the finder shows, is not what the document actually is. This screenshot attached gives us the information of a pdf document sized A4, containing text, vector drawings and images of 300 dpi. In case of an image, finder info shows the correct resolution. In case of a pdf, it's allways a resolution more or less like the one shown in the screenshot. Therefore I presume it's the size of the icon that's given. I think the best way is to open the pdf and examine it in acrobat (for example) if you want to be sure about the correct dimensions. -
Exporting Magazine to Pdf shrinks it

Are you sure 500 pixels is the height of the actual pdf? Or is it the height of the preview/icon in finder? -
Drag & Drop into an existing file

I noticed this: Drag and drop image on document = place Drag and drop image on pasteboard = open -
Preflight Checklist

Not yet, I'm afraid. You (we) are not the first to ask. -
It does work when I place a docx file, though. Inline tables and all.

When I place a rtf file containing tables, the tables are imported as tabbed text. I tested rtf files written by MS Word (PC), NeoOffice and Pages (Mac). Not shure if this is to be considered a bug, but InDesign, Vivadesigner and even iCalamus do import tables in a rtf file as tables.

I would appreciate a different text cursor, that is the cursor within a text frame. Thicker maybe or with ’serifs’. Or maybe even the option to have the choice from different text cursors. The thin vertical line becomes hardly visible when it is at the beginning of a line and coincides with the blue line indicating the margin. A behaviour I tend to find a wee bit annoying from time to time.

PDF clickable table of contents
RM f/g replied to Distill7's topic in Feedback for Affinity Publisher V1 on Desktop
Only the page numbers in a table of contents are clickable. That is not what I would expect. And I think in general one would expect the whole line to be clickable. Still some work to be done here. -
I too second this request. With the ‘select same ...’ feature I would have fased out Illustrator by now. It is a vital feature in my daily work. I often get files (pdf) exported from GIS applications, containing dozens, sometimes hundreds, of lines that need to be worked on. Imagine selecting them one by one.

Footnotes/Endnotes
RM f/g replied to garrettm30's topic in Feedback for Affinity Publisher V1 on Desktop
I know. And I'm not asking for scripting support in at this stage. But now I'm toying about with APublisher (and Viva Designer) I've come to realise how much I use scripted tasks in my workflow.
