I didn't watch the video but if I needed to split an image into S M & H I'd make 2 copies and use Blend Ranges on each, that way you have control over the cutoff points. There is Select/Tonal Range but I've never found that useful

For example, a single student may use the Serif Software on both the student's desktop Windows Computer and laptop Windows Computer, or multiple students may serially use the Serif Software on a single Windows Computer located at a resource centre or library."

As an individual, when you buy the product the licence allows you alone to use it for commercial use
Other users can only use it to make funny cat pictures (but they cant sell them afterwards)
There’s no need to deactivate anything. A single licence covers your use of the software on any PC that you own or control, as long as no one else is using it for commercial purposes.
