    The Photo & Designer personas found in Publisher are indeed good but it should be noted that you will have to have purchased those apps first for them to be available from within Publisher.
    Nor when accessed through their relevant personas in Publisher do they  provide the full functionality to be found in the actual versions of those apps themselves.
    So if you are doing more graphics and design work and feel you don’t need all the features of a desktop publishing focused app like Publisher just yet then the work flow if you only own Photo & Designer would be for example;
    If you are working in Photo go to File > Edit in Designer.
    Designer will automatically launch and load your document, ready for you to continue working on it there.
    To go back to Photo again, in Designer go to File > Edit in Photo.

    Thanks, I already purchased Affinity Design since I don’t need a publishing application at this time. I didn’t notice an Edit in Designer button is available in Affinity Photo. I will adopt this workflow first, thanks everyone.

  2. I have learned that creating a Text-on-Path effect required the use of Affinity Designer. I already own Affinity Photo and I am about to buy Affinity Designer. But I want to know the workflow to work in both Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer. For instance, assume that I am creating a poster in Affinity Photo and want to add a curved text somewhere in the poster. Then I need to go to Affinity Designer in order to create a Text-on-Path curved text. How can I actually work on these two software and let them work together? What is the recommended flow to achieve this?

    You can't create "(Layer)" type layers in Affinity Photo but (for example) if you have Designer you can create a new document in that app, add a "(Layer)" or two to it, use File > Edit in Photo to work on it there & save it as an .afphoto document, like in this Layers & not layers.afphoto file.

    OMG, it is so diffcult for a user to understand. By the way, thanks @R C-R for solving my question.
