Just had the same issue. I just deleted the image and re-opened it - all seems to be working now?

I have converted a word in a selected font and have changed it to curves, however I would like to make the dot in the "i" a different colour than the vertical stroke of the "i" . How do I select just the dot of the "i" - when I double click on the "i" the dot and the stroke are selected, how can I separated them as I would in illustrator?
