I wish I could upload an example, where I'm struggeling with. But when I upload a affinity designer file or png, the forum is telling me an error "-200". I'm trying to draw Jason Voorhees. The line-art is finished, and now I'm working on coloring. As example the gloves are about 7 different lines, which are somehow connected to eachother. So I can't use the fill curve option at the top of the screen. sry about my english

Hi, Can somebody show me a fast way to color shapes (consisting of different lines forming a closed shape, using the pen tool). I understand I cant use the flood fill tool while working with vectorart. What I do now is: trace the line-art for the area I want to fill color with the pen tool. Is there a faster way to do this in vector art? Kind regards, Robin

Hi, I'm using affinity photo for a year and it's fantastic. Last month I tried to make some few cartoons of people, with affinity photo. Is affinity designer worth it, to make cartoons & anime? Why should I buy affinity designer, if I already have affinity photo? I downloaded the free trial of affinity designer yesterday and saw a few tutorials made by affinity, but couldn't find a clue yet why I should buy it. Could somebody tell me why I should buy designer it or not and what tools makes designer a better program? (The pictures are two examples of my work)

Hi @stokerg, Thank you, the Merge Visible trick makes it a lot faster while editing in the same document! -

About the video: you can also see that it won't show a live view, when not moving the mouse. Oh when I put all the adjustments off, and only use the backgroundpicture + paint brush tool, it's really smooth as normal. -
Hi, I'm new to affinity. I have seen a lot of tutorials, which were very usefull so far. After I watched a tutorial, I try to do an exercise of that tutorial by my own pictures. Unfortunately the software (affinity photo) is getting really slow when using a lot of layers, filters and masks. As example: when i try to create a mask layer and want to use the paint brush tool, the realtime view is really slow when swiping with the mouse. I'm not using any other heavy programs except Affinity. It happens in one of my recent edits (Top --> below): 5 adjustments layers, pixel layer, image with mask layer + live adjustment, 3 adjustment layers, image with mask layer + 3 live adjustments, 2 curves with gaussian blur, one background image with curves adjustment. I'm don't thinks this is about my laptop performance, but this is some information: Laptop: Asus rog strix gl503vm Ram: 16 gb CPU/SoC: intel core i7-7700HQ 2.80GHz NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 GDDR5 3.0 GB (192-bit) Sry about my english, in the video you can see what exactly happens. Hi, I'm new to affinity, so i'm watching all these tutorials (which are really good!). I understood all video's so far, until the video "Clipping vs Masking" and "Vector Masking". I don't really get the difference between these two layers. Sometimes both sort of layers give the same result and sometimes not. Could somebody explain it more clearly with examples. I also read the "Affinity Photo Help", but it didn't help. Sry about my english.
