When I use the tear shape and try to shape that into drips using the nodes, gets confusing

Yes I’ve watched the video but it’s a lot difficult using an iPad then a computer. I have an iPad 

so please help

How do I adjust the nodes to make it look like the drips and blend with the letters? I’ve tried on my iPad and have gotten overwhelmed because I can’t figure it out correctly by using either the rounded rectangle or the tear. A video would help if possible for the iPad.

[Placing an image inside an hourglass image]

When I remove a white background from an image commercial free, the image is to pixelated, how do I get rid of that in an image or smooth it out to look 

more professional so that there are hardly any pixels in the images that I’m using? Using my iPad Pro
