  1. You could argue that a tick check box makes more sense but they do work as checkboxes, I’ve had zero issues using them, as easy as v1 (and I have been swapping between the two) Have you actually done a project or are you basing things on grabbing the screen?
  2. Not sure if anyone replied but the arrows are to re-order fx’s when you have multiples of them e.g. multiple inner shadows. You can’t drag to re-order.
  3. That is simply nonsense. As you say and know everyone has a discount therefore (current) customers patently aren’t be ignored they’re being treated as equals which isn’t the same thing. What you want is double special treatment. As for going back to Adobe, if it suits your requirements better then do it however don’t pretend they treat customers better and it’s a strange one that you’re complaining about cost and then talking about going back to them! This moaning about something that’s not going to change and isn’t unreasonable, they’ve explained their reasoning, is getting too much, just typical internet. So I’m giving up for on here for a while as I don’t tolerate all this non-constructive whining well.
  4. If one has a tool that the other hasn’t then it’s a problem if it’s one you use. Clearly not everyone needs everything PS or AI offers but some will want features that just aren’t available yet in AP or AD and in some cases there’s no workaround. It’s pointless pretending they’re basically the same, they just aren’t. They are slowly getting closer but will take a good while to get there.
  5. As much as I like the Affinity apps I don’t agree, perhaps if you are only comparing publisher vs ??? but as you says tools I assume you mean PS and AI too. AP and AD aren’t feature comparable yet. Of course it depends on your requirements, affinity may well be more than enough.
  6. That must be a relatively new thing, last I looked the only option was $99/year and worked as I said.
  7. I think that’s seeing things through rose tinted spectacles, I remember plenty of bugs in software and, depending how far you go back, it was much more difficult to get updates. Of course everyone wants bug free software unfortunately there’s rarely if ever such a thing. No idea about v1 patches as I’m not affinity but I’m guessing no. However it is still a perpetual license as v1 hasn’t suddenly stopped working, no one says it will be supported and updated forever. Pretty much all software is the same, possibly annoying but it is what it is.
  8. Hi, Me neither, but it's getting cold and dark so back to doodling! Thanks
  9. Keep telling yourself that and it might make it true 😅 Yes, there's more than one way to implement a subscription and don't pay = you can't access your work is just one way. Sketch is an annual subscription but don't pay and you just don't get updates. it doesn't lock you out. Another example is an in between one. MS Office 365 subscription, stop paying and you can view and print work but can't edit it, so it changes to read only mode. So the company chooses how much to cripple the software, if at all, if you don't pay but they're still classed as subscriptions as you pay on a regular basis vs a perpetual license. They're just not always at Adobe's level of awfulness.
  10. They never say lifetime, as in every major version going forward until the end of time. So unless they’ve told you personally something different then perhaps improve your reading and comprehension skills. All because you’re on the internet doesn’t mean that putting out unsubstantiated accusations of fraud will always end well.
  11. No it doesn’t mean that at all. It can stop if they choose but that is a choice not the definition.
  12. Subscription doesn’t mean that. The horrible Adobe way does but for example Sketch allows you to carry on using it you just don’t get updates, which is fair enough.
  13. Well 40% isn't enough so closer to free is obviously going to be what you are after. I give up, I was under the mistaken impression that "up to" wasn't a complicated word. Voucher codes, nope. Have read of the Apple developer docs for example and you'll see why.
  14. Unfortunately that’s the nature of software, always has been and always will be. Companies don’t spend the resources on things people can no longer buy. Like I said people have had up to 5+ years of free upgrades, that never goes on forever as it’s not commercially viable.
  15. Well places like the Apple store doesn’t allow for upgrade pricing and you can’t have different prices depending where you buy it. So count that 40% off as your upgrade discount, it’s just they have to do it for everyone. Sounds as though free is what you’re really after though not a discount at all. Which is why I said up to 5+ years.
  16. I don’t understand the point you’re trying to make. Have you products all stopped working? No. Are you being forced to upgrade? No. Have you had up to 5+ years of v1 upgrades for free? Yes. But that’s not enough?
  17. I’ve been using it for a while and for what I’ve done it doesn’t get gummed up or crash, but then I’m not using all its features (although others have). So I’ve not been concerned about starting new projects in v2 rather than sticking to v1 to be safe and personally don’t see a need to load up the old version any more.
  18. Unless they added absolutely everything they could possibly add then some people are bound to complain, that’s life and you can’t win with everyone.
  19. It’s probably not going to happen for a long time, unless they decide to make it a priority. Was never likely for v2 in my opinion.
  20. Added a bit more texture to the filler cap and did the windscreen.
