  1. I only use the basic tools anyway. I only do vector so Designer.
  2. Thanks Mark. I didn't really know how I wanted to do it exactly other than I didn't want to use blurs and so just did it. I thought it turned out OK. Might revisit it later as I have a few ideas to try.
  3. My idea of flat, no blurs so tried to blend things in a bit by using shapes and blend modes.
  4. I thought I'd try and do something with Inkscape now v1.3 is out. Cars are "easy" if long winded so I though that would be a good project to try it out on. Even installed Linux to give it the best chance but it's just too slow, clunky (like the coders don't actually use it, but they're doing it for free so not complaining too much) and a bit buggy. So I gave up after a couple of days and opened it in AD v2 then copied it in to AD v1 (as v1 wouldn't open it) and did it in there instead. Windows AD was grinding to a halt near the end, should just use my Mac.
  5. Couldn't decide what to do next so did this. People on FB said about the Christine movie that featured a '58 Fury, not watched it but it's now on my list.
  6. It was the last manned lighthouse before they all became automated.
  7. The Art Deco entrance to the Lowell Pool in Boise Idaho. Designed in 1953 by Wesley Bintz.
  8. Thanks but no thanks. I'm fine with a bit of fun, who isn't? But that's more of a pain than fun as you can't easily see which one to pick. I don't care if it's just the odd day I don't need slowing down any more than I usually am (I've got literally thousands of objects to do with styles this time). Do it more like the shapes panel and make it a user decision.
  9. I don't want some random brick wall someone else has done though.
  10. I know but that's not vector and still wouldn't look exactly the same.
  11. I've done as much as I'm going to. I was going to try and do the brickwork as close to real as possible but it was going to be a ton of work, bad condition bricks plastered over in places too, so I chickened out and simplified it. Think it still looks OK'ish.
  12. Thank-you. I did add the text last night. On to the complicated/more fiddly parts now.
  13. Weekend update. Finished the book covers and the door windows insides/reflections. Have some text to do on the window stickers sometime. Working on the first floor window reflections then on to the brickwork.
  14. Early in the week I thought I might finish over the weekend but at this rate that's not going to happen. I'll get there though. Perhaps I'm wrong but buildings don't generally seem to impress anyone.
  15. Thanks Mark. Finished the main windows, have a couple of book covers still to do, they're pesky ones though although none are done perfectly, not that it's obvious when they're a small part of the overall image.
  16. I was going to simplify it but changed my mind. Have only finished the bottom left and top right of those windows. Still quite a few books window to redraw too. Who knew that bookshops had so many books! Back to using AD v1 as it's just nicer in a number of ways and as my requirements are simple it's no loss.
  17. The Lotus 108 track bike as ridden by Chris Boardman who won the 1992 Barcelona Olympics 4000m pursuit riding one and claiming a new world record on the way.
  18. That will do for now, I will have a look in a week or so and sort out bits I then decide that I hate!
  19. Yeah another Alfa! Just showing where I started blocking in and doing a few bits all over the place and then a week later. Can't decide on the lady so not quite finished either, perhaps a different pose, facing the car? Not sure. Anyway will update when I've decided and I'm done.
  20. Yes old english white. The trouble with them is they did love to rust, but all cars did back then. The Cooper and above have become very expensive now even basket cases, so it would have been a good investment if you stored it somewhere totally dry. I remember when you could pick them up for hardly anything. Whilst I’m not as tall as you I also remember banging my head on the roof going down typically bad back roads.
  21. I had an Island Blue mk2 Cooper at one time, so external hinges like the mk1 but with angular grille. Classic Mini’s are really fun to drive at normal speeds, 30 felt like 60. Not the most practical car though, tiny boot made even tinier with the fuel tank and battery. Not the safest either with just a single door skin between you and the outside world.
