You do not need to put both curves on the same layer. The Join Curves action will do that for you.

Dang!   You are correct, Sir!    Though you have to do it carefully, you can "Join" two points.   After that, you can just drag points to join (for ppl reading in the future).

My only complaint is that when you initially join, you get this spaghetti loop that you hafta clean up.

Okay, I'm not sure which way you mean this.  I'm guessing you want the two paths to become one with all the nodes from each path included.  It's actually quite simple if you know the procedure.  When in the node tool select the two nodes you want attached.  These must be end (or start) nodes, not middle nodes.  If no nodes are selected this process will attach the two closest end/start nodes.   Then just click the Join curves icon in the Action group of the context toolbar.

Thanks for the reply @Gear maker!

Joining two nodes isnt the problem.    My issue is getting path layer #1 combined with path layer #2 so I can THEN JOIN them exactly as you courteously explained.    Thx again.

  3. I have this great gouache brush that I'd like to change the default settings.     So I select the brush, change the size, opacity, flow, etc.    Then in the brush panel I select "New Brush from Selection".    But the saved brush is *nothing* like my original.

Obviously I'm doing something wrong.   I hope my ?? makes sense.

Edit: When I use the "More" button to change the settings, it just ignores me.  =[

  4. I'm trying to integrate more raster into my vector (comfort zone) work.

As I recall, if you select the Pixel Layer icon in the (Designer Persona) layer panel... you'd get a message saying something like "Hey! you're adding a pixel layer!" and then when you went to the Pixel Persona, you'd see your vector layer as a mask over your brush work.

    Nada.

I see neither of those things anymore.   Isn't it supposed to automatically switch to raster mode?

So confused.      Did I turn something off?

What I mean is there is no provision to make one.  There is for Break Curve & Join Curves in the Node Tool section of keyboard preferences, but not for the other 2 "Action" items.

Dude!!   "Join Curve" is almost as good!   Sure you have to drag-select with the direct select arrow, but it still saves a few keystrokes.

"Node Tool section" - now it makes perfect sense.    =]

    Thx much @R C-R
