Hello there. I checked the operating system of my Windows 7 machine and it's a 32-bit, not 64-bit as I mistakenly thought it was, which explains why the trial version won't install on my computer. Thank you both for your helpful replies; I appreciate it. J.

Hello there. Today, I downloaded the free trial of Affinity Photo with the intent to see if I am ready to upgrade (I am a user of PhotoPlus 8). I successfully installed it on my Windows 10 laptop, but, when I attempted to install in it on my Windows 7 machine, the exe file refused to initialise. I tried re-downloading the file and rebooted my computer but the result was the same. I would like to know whether this a buggy file or simply that it doesn't work on Windows 7. Thanks!
