I have the exact same issue as Daniel was but, the "Use Fill" Feature is not working for me at all, is there any way this can get fixed in the next patch? or am I doing something wrong?
    Thanks,
    George

The original complaint is still valid though, right?
I mean why should we have to go to a pull down and then a fly out.

It should be.... click on an object, get those settings.
(another workaround seems to be to select an object, go to color panel, flip stroke/fill, flip back. New object will have those attributes. Easier going to submenu  )

I'm having some issues working with object properties on Designer.

I want the default vector properties to be the same as a previous made object. On illustrator that was very easy, select and object and the next one you draw will have exactly the same properties. (Current object sets the defeault properties)

On Designer im struggling to set the current properties. I know that i cant select and copy and object and paste properties only, but that doesn't modifies the current default properties (And doesn't preserve all properties, like gradient lines). Also i must paste style on all new objects as pasting style does not change the default properties.

Question is. Does Designer have a way to change current properties based on and object as illustrator does? Is the one thing that makes me work slower than on illustrator at this moment.

Here's another vote for this feature. Almost finished with a project and whoops, can't do free transforms…

Wow. I bought Affinity Photo as I was tired of Adobe's pricing model. Ditching Illustrator too I thought Designer would have this simple function. The ability to freely transform shapes.

Another voice for the 'please add this vital feature' choir.

I agree, I have no idea how you work without this tool for vector based illustration???

Serif removed all roadmaps - post the 2014 hype some dissatisfaction emerged and Serif terminated it. A public roadmap isn't the best of ideas, so no problem except the expectations users had for years because they did in fact publish and keep it here for years.
Not to worry though, there are manual workarounds for all of you out there:

I'm really needing a free transform tool that can handle

Exactly. Especially when it is marketed as "The complete graphic design solution".

    Hi Patrick Kayser,
This tool is not available in the desktop version. Currently there's two way to rotate the view in the desktop version:
    - go to menu View ▸ Rotate Left/Right o rotate the view in 15º increments (you can also reset the rotation there);
    - go to Affinity Photo/Designer Preferences, Tools section and tick Enable Canvas Rotation with Trackpad if you have one available. This one rotates the view freely using a two finger rotation gesture.

Is there any way to enable canvas rotation with hand gestures on the touch screen? For instance, in Photoshop, you can place two fingers on the screen and rotate them, and the canvas will rotate in that direction. I can't seem to find any setting to enable it and its very frustrating not being able to shift my canvas around freely when I'm drawing. I end up just turning my whole tablet around, which is very inconvenient.

Hi, now that we are well Into 2019, I am wondering if you are planning on adding touch based canvas rotation like most other professional digital art programs? Why not have all features on the desktop version? Would the desktop version suffer in any way because of this? Would it not benefit greatly? This just creates confusion. Lots of us are on touch devices that run Windows. Why can't we have something as simple as rotate canvas? I mean, would your iPad app be as popular if you never had this basic feature? This is a major neglect and we who want to use Affinity for this just can't. If you care for digital artists this should be a high priority feature. Right now you are making people choose Photoshop instead of you because of this simple feature.
