  1. I think I've got this. The file dialogue was opening behind the Affinity Photo Window.
  2. OK, I have that open, and, as I posted before APh appears to be an 'Intel:64' app so I presumably need Rosetta. How do i tell APh to open with Rosetta?
  3. That's not the problem. Mirror displays/Gather windows with only APh running and it's just the same. It's not that I can't see it, it's not there. Files dropped from finder or other apps to APh open as expected.
  4. OK, but I'm not clear on: Where do I set Affinity Photo to open using Rosetta?
  5. 'File open' pane opens as normal, choose the file and it opens.
  6. I'm thinking maybe the NIK collection is not M1 compatible. Is that a possibility?
  7. Indeed. Interestingly I have 1.10.5 on both laptop and desktop. On the laptop it reports 'Universal', on the desktop it reports '64 bit'
  8. I'd already quoted your first link, and explained that I don't get the 'To Open 'App' you need to install Rosetta' dialogue.
  9. Nope, nothing. A short 'waiting' whirlygig and then nothing
  10. I'm on Mac OS X 10.15.7 - maybe that's the issue.
  11. Evidently not - same result as 'File>Open' brief moment of the whirlygig and then nothing.
  12. OK, further research suggests that NIK doesn't work on Apple Silicon (as in my new MacBook). However, neither NIk nor APh have flagged a requirement for Rosetta even though they are both 'Intel:64' apps rather than 'Universal'. Unless they do this I don't think that I can install Rosetta.
  13. Easy enough. In normal mode, with no file currently open, 'File>Open', double click in the empty view - nothing happens. Interestingly, on my laptop, this same sequence (File>Open) opens a file dialog from where I can open a file in the usual way.
