  1. In my opinion the value for "allow jpeg compression" should be used to play with the output pdf file size. We do this in Affinity Photo when setting the value in the export option for jpeg file. In the previous version of affinity publisher this worked the same way...
  2. Publisher ver. 1.7.0.257. Whatever value I set in "allow JPEG compression" quality the size of exported pdf file is the same, and the quality of pictures are the same. As the size of exported document is pretty much the same as the publisher document I assume that there is no compression during export at all.
