OK ten thousand words, is it worth continuing? Or shall we just hit delete? Open to critic.

colin foster got a reaction from VectorWhiz in Vamporia - Red Dead Stories
Thought I would share this story, not sure if there is much of a call for this type of content nowadays.
This intro story is inspired by my partial play through of RED Dead Redemption 2 on PC. I have used the setting for the story from the game where I then did a photo shoot taking pictures from inside the game world and then enhancing them using Affinity Photo and Designer.
I was very pleased with the level of detail shown by the creators of this game world and this prompted me to write a series of RED Dead Stories.

Exercise with Xenon
Ok so I wanted a forest design for my latest eco–vid. Started playing around and came up with a surprising glimpse of creativity.
Process:
Open Affinity photo.
Download a nice forest photo from the internet.
Copy, paste and flip horizontal, drag and fix to form a symmetrical composite.
I purchased the Xenon brush pack from Affinity store and used them to create effects.
I finished with a galactic brush to add the vibrant green mist.
This started out as a simple play with brush and finished with an interesting picture. Not complex just try and see. It’s not rocket science, just good old fashioned work and play.

colin foster got a reaction from Jowday in Amateur Spotlight - Endless possibilities
Thought I might share one of my paintings drawn using Affinity Photo, the red radio is a photo and the rest is drawn to create an image for a possible concept story that I have been working upon.
The eyes are drawn using one of the Affinity tutorials. I am very impressed with this software package and the company’s commitment to making the software approachable to all creators.
I am self taught and really wish to encourage new talent and provide a perspective from someone who is not a professional designer but wanted to give it a go. I would like Affinity to do a series of spotlight on new amateur talent. I think that it might encourage more budding media artists and kick start new possibilities.
Thanks Affinity.

colin foster got a reaction from William Overington in Olivia
I tend to get a picture in my mind’s eye as to the overall feel and concept and then begin the work.
12 hour concept art is my term for a rough time frame that it took me to construct this. For this I downloaded the three pictures from the net, the model, the chalkboard and finally the spider photo. The rest is drawn by hand and the photos treated to get the effect that I feel I wanted. The red shoe was a clip art copy that I redrew from scratch a few months ago. In this instance the story is the last part of this process. I take a good look at the finished picture and write the story. This particular story is a continuation of the Mr Morose photo art concept that I posted earlier this week. The story is in my mind’s eye but getting it developed is an ongoing process. The idea is essentially to kick start that left brain thinking whilst preserving the technical process of photography. This is what I call Photo-Art, the merging together of reality and imagination. Synaptic pathways linking positive thought.
I really like the graphic novel concept, however, as I am new to this and still developing ideas and format this is a work in progress. We have all seen how photo manipulation can have quite negative effects; my wish is to convey writing and illustration in simple form that is accessible to as many folk as possible. Simple stories and photo-art that do not take forever to produce, I can go on and on about this but I hope that I have conveyed a rough draft of my thinking.
Thanks for your reply and I will take a look at your novel.
As for not being very good at art, I failed my art exam at school and my only friend told me my teachers where laughing at my work, so first off bury the expectations and draw what you like. There is no judgment upon how art ought to be perceived, let the imagination of the viewer decide that. Just start and go from there. Encourage your inner creative self and you will be surprised what it will tell you.

colin foster got a reaction from AffinityJules in Mr Morose - DoomWatch
Concept artwork and story that I have been working on. Using AP. (inspired by that very old 1960's Sci-Fi tv series called Doomwatch.)
Can you guess whose forehead I have used for this photo art?
Clue, he is a well known actor.
