Yes please make a short Vimeo video about the current state of devolopement.... Something like, hey that's our current program.... It's alive and healthy and wealthy and can already say hello world :) -
ronnyb, I think that really is a great idea!
-
And to add some more detail because I think I could not rely on AP for doing more work: If I´d do a shooting and would start using RAW I would definitely want to apply certain batch settings to the RAWs in first place and also do very little manipulation to most of them and doing this in AP would be just a huge pain and even batch processing in AP would not work (if available) because of the file sizes... That´s just how much a DAM is needed. But I think the developers know this as well... Apart from that AP will become a truly great software!

I really never understood this behavior at all and I´m very happy that you´re bringing this up here! :)

https://vimeo.com/110131937 And some go crazy about non destructive boolean operations :) ...it really is nice, although I´ve never used it jet, but definitely useful :)

I totally agree! But there's no need for a close button. A simple click elsewhere could make the drop down disappear. It really is awefull and definitely not worth copying from Adobe ....

create snow
anon1 replied to anon1's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
this rasterizing thing is driving me crazy :o On an unrasterized fill layer the direct filter dos not work but the live filter does work (if dragged on top of the fill layer). I´ll just remember not to use the normal filter ;) -

create snow
anon1 replied to anon1's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
thanks rosa, I know the overall logic ;) I just noticed that it works fine if I select the add noise option from the popup under the layers and drag it over the black layer. But if I select add noise from the filter menu there is no effect. I don´t really understand this behavior.... -
there are some tutorials which describe different approaches on how to create snow most of them involve a step where they create a black layer and add monochromatic noise but if I add noise (filter, noise, add noise) in affinity photo noting changes on the black layer... and btw. yes, I did select the black layer first ;) Thanks in advance for any help

I also question myself why not every filter is alive filter. And why is haze Removal introduced as destructive filter? I hope it will be available as a live filter in the MAS version. I would recommend the following solution for layer nesting: If the selected layer is a live filter layer and one adds another live filter layer the new one should be added on top (not nested as it is at the moment). Ifs a pixel layer is selected, the live filter should be applied nested as only affecting the pixel layer. - that should be easy to code and does´t have any disadvantages, right?

@pentaxian I can understand your problem and it's valid but I don't think your solution is as straight forward as you point it out. Just image that one wants so focus on some things at the edge of an image and therefore centeres the image. Although it may not be your workflow I can see this a possible one. Peace :)

Oh well, perfect Paul :) Didn't know separated mode behaved like this in full screen ;) nice ;)
-
Maybe you can attach the OS X dock to the left or right side of your screen (in the OS X settings available) and then use the separated mode and drag out the widow all the way from top to bottom? Not shure if it helps, just a guess...
-
Yes you can use cmd + c and cmd + v Just make shure to select/ copy the actual layer and not it's name :) Just to add 2cent: In PS one can shift + drag a layer to another document in separated mode
