No big deal once you know it but I think it really is worth mentioning that it´s in the current beta! Great to have the option to exclude the metadata :)

Finally I´m happy to say that Photo Mecanic is fast. It´s even faster than Bridge so this software really owned his title! I don´t like the UI, I think On1 10s UI looks promising. When on1 10 get´s released I´ll give it a try but so far Photo Mechanic could be an option. It hasn´t OS X 10.11 in his descriptions yet so this somehow reflects the overall UI outdated feel of the software but well at least it performs really well! - it´s 150$ btw again..... and I´d like integrated batch processing (with AP integration) and this thing that also LR has where I can create a down sampled catalog with low res images for my MacBook... I think PM does´t have this. So Affinity would be still the way to go but PM is really fast ;)

Maybe there's already a shortcut entry in the current beta - I haven't looked for it yet. - I think many here will appreciate that you may create a book about affinity ;) (y)

you can use shift + f5 but I personally don´t like the f keys

yes, very true

Regarding the speed of new features that are added, I think the developers are fairly quick compared to photoshop but on the other hand it's a lot easier for them as the basic tools already exist in other software... And what I've read some times is quite true IMO - affinity says it's only version 1.0 and that's true - but they also say AP has been 5 years in the making ... So it's not like they would have had 1 year to do it all... Anyway - what's the point in criticising their work? I found them very frendly whenever they respond and if the App grows over the next year with the same speed it'l be alright. I just wishe we would be one year ahead in time ...

[Request] [Tutorial] Lens Correction

...and AP does not support scripting ;) -
Sounds very promising!

It can't do it at the moment but there were several discussions on this forum which you might want to search and look at. The dev's know about this issue and it's just a huge amount of work to get it to a level where they would want it to be so I wouldn't expect this feature before mid 2016. But it will be very likely apear some day!

Affinity Publisher
anon1 replied to ONSO's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
It's for the beta, late 2015, early 2016 ;) I'd like to use it late 2015 to produce two print things so I'll keep my thinkers crossed as well ;) -
The "gosting" is most likely to be caused by the case that you only apply the adjustment to the impainting layer/ the layer you did the impainting on. Just drag it up one step so that it's not nested anymore.

I totally forgot, to fill a pixel layer with the fore or background color we could also use shift + f5 There was a bug which I reported that caused the back and foreground color to switch when bringing up the dialog but it´s already logged, haven´t looked if it´s fixed.
-
you can try to make a selection first and then start impainting, everything outside the selection will stay untouched. or you could copy the selection onto a new layer using cmd + j and then impaint on that layer so the imapinting can only sample from that layer (though you can change the brush behavior to also use layers beneath - but you wouldn´t want this in that case)

APhoto Feature request: Selection Persona
anon1 replied to ronnyb's topic in Older Feedback & Suggestion Posts
I can clearly see the benefit but on the other hand you'd have to change the personas more often which could get anoying compared to having everything in one view .... Just my first thought and probably a thing that could be addressed thought good implementation. -
Yes of course, and the Shift D Shortcut makes perfect sense as well. I for my part had wished for a dedicated shortcut for creating the layer and filling it at the same time... Not it´s like Shift cmd n Shift D G (maybe pressing twice) click But well ... nothing too bad, I Mean there are other more important things so I´ll just forget about this two more seconds it takes

Learn Affinity Designer by example
anon1 replied to dalacv's topic in Tutorials (Serif and Customer Created Tutorials)
IMO there are nice things mentioned but for my part it´s just way to slow... I can see that others request exactly this slow procedure so these are just my two cents on this. as a comparison - I found the pace of the official Affinity Videos absolutely perfect! And thank you making this free for forum members, the videos really show your efforts and obviously you already helped many people so that really is something to be proud of (y)
