AD also runs on iPad https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/7914-ad-for-ipad/ (not yet available) and iPhone 4s https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/11726-affinity-photo-for-ipad/?p=56932 So IMO an i7 is not a must have - though I have them...and I´ve bought a used MBP so I could afford the best specs

Yes the artist might want to use the flood select tool in the vertical left tool bar. Use foreground color (the circle in front of the other one in the upper right area) white. This might work. Or you can go to the top > select > sampled color and klick on the color you want to erase. Then you get a selection of the areas with this color and you can erase this. Use the erase tool Or use a white brush Or cmd+ backspace should also work. Hope I got it right ;)

a little bit OT but here is the picture I was referring to... just noticed how convenient they work and so it came back to my mind...

You'll always get beach balls st some time. But the apps sre very effective so it's also to say that you'll probably will get less beach balls than with any other software. So it just depends on your budget. I'd just advice you to go for 16GB RAM (you can also change this yourself after buying an iMac). And I'd choose a SSD or fusion drive. As a photographer I need more space so I choosed a fusion drive.

Affinity Photo Customer Beta (1.3.5.4)
anon1 replied to Andy Somerfield's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on macOS threads
I wonder how an CMYK curves adjustment works when the document is in RGB mode. I thought the color space wasn't the same - I mean - not every color has an equivalent, right? Doesn't this produce any blind spots? Did you do any workarounds for them or is there anything to keep in mind? Thanks in advance! -
Hikusai- no joke! I just visited a Lighrioom course and told the other people there about awesome AP. And then Inread this post and just had to freak out and tell everyone that you'll release a DAM in 2016 *_* So great :) I'll add some things I "learned" from the course and which I would consider to be very important. First off not every RAW format is garanteed to be supported till the end of the earth so would it be possible to use DNG as an format to convert the raw files to? They said it would be an open standard from Adobe. I hope it really is that open! That's important because DAM is not only about short terms but very important for long iterations. For example the consistent UI of Lightroom over all past versions was pointed out because it is almost completely the same as in V1. That's not important to me so much but to many others .... So in a DAM consistence is very important! And something that'll be easy to improve: The diashow and book options in Lightroom are very poor, I'd would be possible to just drop these things! (Publisher could probably do the book and web stuff anyway!) Last I want to add that there are some color sliders controlling luminance etc very detailed and they would still be awesome in AP, I'll post a picture of then when I'm home.

And I've linked in my signature to a post from TonyB. They just want to complete the things that were announced and then consider other things. I just hope DAM has a higher priority than going for Windows as well...

I'm definitely one seeing things a little similar to your POV. At least I strongly agree for the need of a great DAM/ Browsing engine.

Affinity Photo Customer Beta (1.3.5.4)

Hoping for an explanation of use cases for the live stack modes, and they´ll be live like blend modes but I guess that´s for sure. Thank you very much Affinity Team! The Levels clipping thing is awesome and the Colorspace options for adjustments as well - but I´ll have to watch some videos about the exact use of them. Also the Perspective tool is awesome, I´d just make it the default when clicking on the icon in the tools section on the left side and make a checkbox in the toolbox to use it destructively. -

Time for a new beta? :) -
I question myself how they want to push a new file format if no commercial product is allowed to use it??

AP group adjustments
anon1 replied to anon1's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
ok that´s sad because I use to create two or three sets of adjustments to compare them. this get´s my 4GHz Quadcore spinning at 100% and maybe grouping them would allow AP to do some pre rendering on the groups and so I could switch them on and off more fluidly... And it would be easier to create different "looks" and keep them organized. Or have you any other solution/ approach for that? -
hmm too sad....does the same go for this one? zopfliPNG https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/13196-zopflipng/?p=57995

Yes indeed that works but I´d prefer the dragging solution - especially for use with a pen and a tablet -

It would be nice if one could drag with a pressed mouse on/ above the text size label ... And on the layers visibility (still missing this one :/ ) ... Or just on nearly every label that controls the size of a tool or object ;)
