  1. Did PS get any worse through LR?

Why should it be fhe case with AP...

You need comprehensive raw developement and thus syncing settings through multiple images

    Import filter

    Virtual copies

So just AP does not cover the needs.

And you can't store an afphoto file for every raw image

But I bet the devs know this anyway.

Without that I'd rather go for 12€ or whatever LR PS a month. Seriously.

  2. I can´t open the embedded text and I also don´t see a perspective filter being applied but nevertheless ....

as far as I´m concerned the placed image is rasterized when it´s exported along wth the whole project but inside it`s own file it´s still vector and thus completely editable

for me - that´s a big step - I´m usually dealing with pixel stuff anyway

  3. I know I'm currently a bit on fire and could probably employ a dedicated developement team myself ;)

I'd suggest a button in the layer section that "creates" a split view like it is possible for example when dealing with the haze removal filter

But the before and after should compare the image with and without the selected layers active

The reason why I'd find this helpful is because when I have some USM layers or things like that and want to see their effect - it's sometimes hard to see if AP has already recalculated the image because when there's a lot going on it becomes a little bit tardy....

So if you'd offer this split view thing AP could calculate both versions at the same time because it knows that I want to switch between the two views and thus reduce/ eliminate this slowness

I hope this makes as much sense to you as it does to me ;)

  4. As an easy example:

Say I'd clip an image with an rectangle

    > the image is only visible inside the rectangle

How could I invert it so that everything outside the rectangle is visible (I could put it on top) but I mean so that the area where the rectangle is should be transparent, like cutting the rectangle out of the image - non destructively

I'd suggest to make this behaviour happen with pressing cmd I - just as a pixel mask would do

I hope this is a little bit clear

  5. How would you describe Affinity?

Groundbreaking, coarse and incomplete. It is a version 1 after all!

In the forums one can quickly get the feeling that the app has many things to be desired

But when I hear things from the developers I feel like they wound´t even need the forum....they´re just so aware of what they´ve in front of them

    - obviously they still use the input somehow and build on top of that ;)

Andy, I hope it´s ok to quote you here ;)

We shot for the “middle” with the first release – but we’re going to try to hoover up everyone else too – including the DAM guys. Yes – I said it – we’re making a DAM product and it will be spectacular (but coarse and incomplete at v1.0), same deal.

Where do you see the Affinity suite in 3 years?

    Finished – complete and refined!
