Well time is not really an argument when you can effectively batch process in a matter of minutes.
As I see it - they just don't know their tools or the tools available.
-
Yes I wanna go for RAW and how can one without these capabilities?
I still see regional pro photographers using jpeg - what the ....
-
Well we're not going to agree in this point I guess ;)
-
Did PS get any worse through LR?
Why should it be fhe case with AP...
You need comprehensive raw developement and thus syncing settings through multiple images
Import filter
Virtual copies
So just AP does not cover the needs.
And you can't store an afphoto file for every raw image
But I bet the devs know this anyway.
Without that I'd rather go for 12€ or whatever LR PS a month. Seriously.

Don't worry
There are such issues on a regular basis here
And I think the devs plan to improve this in the future to always includ the ICC stuff - at least there was some talk about it but I don't remember the exact thread
-
-
But I found that the Wacom Intuos pro two finger zoom is not so usable -(it's perfectly fine with an Apple trackpad)
So maybe thus the scrubby zoom is preferable
-
I think the last beta should make a pop up when there is a new beta
But I've not seen this for some betas because I'm always round the forum so I don't know if it's still there...

I can´t open the embedded text and I also don´t see a perspective filter being applied but nevertheless ....
as far as I´m concerned the placed image is rasterized when it´s exported along wth the whole project but inside it`s own file it´s still vector and thus completely editable
for me - that´s a big step - I´m usually dealing with pixel stuff anyway
-
They should just give us the appropriate DAM and then we´re free from this Apple Photo stuff ;)
-
Any news about that would be very welcome but I guess we won't get them now because they're announced for 2016 ...
But I very strongly guess it'll be like aperture ;)
-
I know I'm currently a bit on fire and could probably employ a dedicated developement team myself ;)
I'd suggest a button in the layer section that "creates" a split view like it is possible for example when dealing with the haze removal filter
But the before and after should compare the image with and without the selected layers active
The reason why I'd find this helpful is because when I have some USM layers or things like that and want to see their effect - it's sometimes hard to see if AP has already recalculated the image because when there's a lot going on it becomes a little bit tardy....
So if you'd offer this split view thing AP could calculate both versions at the same time because it knows that I want to switch between the two views and thus reduce/ eliminate this slowness
I hope this makes as much sense to you as it does to me ;)
-
On the other hand - if it's in an online tool it might not be to complex ;)
- they'll make their decisions :D
-
Are you shure you've set the filter to "destination" and not to "source"?
Looks weird ....
-
I don't know either :) maybe I'll find out tomorrow ;)
But it's definitely an improvement!

But the embedded document itself stays editable as vectors right?
-
Yes this came to my mind a few minutes after I submitted the post.
Although I'd still find the other behaviour reasonable.
-
As an easy example:
Say I'd clip an image with an rectangle
> the image is only visible inside the rectangle
How could I invert it so that everything outside the rectangle is visible (I could put it on top) but I mean so that the area where the rectangle is should be transparent, like cutting the rectangle out of the image - non destructively
I'd suggest to make this behaviour happen with pressing cmd I - just as a pixel mask would do
I hope this is a little bit clear
-
....which point do you want to make?
Maybe this is again some sort of spam? ;)

How would you describe Affinity?
Groundbreaking, coarse and incomplete. It is a version 1 after all!###
https://affinity.serif.com/blog/interview-with-lead-affinity-photo-developer-andy-somerfield/
In the forums one can quickly get the feeling that the app has many things to be desired
But when I hear things from the developers I feel like they wound´t even need the forum....they´re just so aware of what they´ve in front of them
- obviously they still use the input somehow and build on top of that ;)
Andy, I hope it´s ok to quote you here ;)
###
We shot for the “middle” with the first release – but we’re going to try to hoover up everyone else too – including the DAM guys. Yes – I said it – we’re making a DAM product and it will be spectacular (but coarse and incomplete at v1.0), same deal.
"We’ve got some pretty massive bombs we’re hoping to drop in the next 12 months, but to tell you would be cheating."

Where do you see the Affinity suite in 3 years?
Finished – complete and refined!
-
I´ve also liked the old behavior...
-
It´s not like PS that can be called out of Lightroom (if you´ve both)
That´ll happen with the Affinity DAM in 2016 (I guess, I hope :)

ABC... But can't this be integrated into publisher?
Or which features do you mean?
Yes preview is indeed very nice and quite underrated - it got a lot faster under El Capitan...
