  1. It'll be in the next MAS version update but I also requested this for the sharpening tool but somehow the devs are not so much around the feature request forum at the moment. Lots of bugs though, they might have a busy time in the office. I think they know about the sharpening masking issue though - just haven't had time yet I guess
  2. If I rasterise an image - do I loose resolution? Is it rasterised to the current document dpi and resolution. I guess it's not but I just want to be shure ....
  3. I really wish this was a troll.... IMO Great answer jmac btw. Or these people who be like: Oh my eyes are so bad and I can't see the icons on my 5k iMac. So why did buy an 5k iMac when you can't even see the icons?
  4. When you hit save the browser opens the picture in a new tab, right? You have to klick one into the hyperlink bar to highlight it and then press cmd + enter and then the file will be downloaded. This also works for pdf. Actually this works for every website but it's not particularly helpful in every case :D So we've got the same images, I sharpened the couple a little bit, I think you've done a better job overall (y)
  5. Ok sorry for the short comment, yes I think you're absolutely right and I've not seen a request yet for changing this behaviour and I think it's not so easy at all. But especially for masks it could have clear benefits ;) Maybe the gradient could be made uneditable when a brush stroke is added to the same layer. (Otherwise I guess it would be to complicated to keep the gradient editable)
  6. or drag out a square that defines the desired area of the image and then drag it over the background layer to use it as a clipping mask
  7. Im talking about the display which also says 32bit (4x8 / RGBA). I´ve got an Eizo at a friends desk so I could give that a try but I really don´t think it would work - and I´m currently not sure bout it´s capabilities. So I´m pretty sure it just does not work ;)
  8. took me about 20min and did it just 4fun because I saw this topic all the time used the quick selection and smoothed the mask manually with a brush the actual file is 25MB so here´s the jpg! It looks really photoshopped (which has a sort of double negative meaning in this forum ;) ) but IMO not extremely bad. I guess the image has more a nice memory behind it rather than being the perfect shoot ;) and yes - the blur is pretty cheap, sorry ;)
  9. Well I suppose you´ve got a RAW image somewhere imported from your camera. If it´s in your file system, right click and choose open with Affinity Photo.... If you use Aperture or Photos there are plenty threads in this forum explain those on vimeo there is a dedicated beginner tutorial and theres no special intelligence needed to follow these instructions which are presented very well IMO - I can compare them to quite a ton of other YouTube Tutorials I´ve watched so far! I find the Vimeo Videos incredible - perfect speed (and voice) and nice hints! PS: it´s core that you understand LAYERS, that´s the difference to LR and that´s what makes AP so much more capable!
  10. I´ve immediately downloaded this one it takes quite some time to compute the optimizations so I wound´t like this for every AP/ AD export but I could definitely see this as an option for APub to say: - ok, I´ve finished this project and want to smallest file size on earth and don´t care if it computes for 15 min (if there are many images). My first try was directly a hit with 71% optimization and then I had something about 10-20% which is really ok but did not freak me out that much anymore
  11. Yeah it just works in the vector environment of designer...
  12. You can expand the canvas or adjust the photo before you print so there's no need of getting upset.
  13. They probably could have already typed away bridge in few days. There'll be some more action and advanced features invoked for convenient raw handling ;)
  14. haha that is pretty funny, definitely very interesting - although I guess a little bit confusing to some.... I´d support an option for this behavior, may be very nice in some situations, once you´re used to it ;)
  15. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/14452-10bit-finally-comes-to-mac/?p=64324 I´ve also discovered that but theres currently no API exposed to the developers
  16. OCR is such a great thing I´d love to have something like that in APub but I guess it might not happen for a long time .....
  17. I´ve read really nice news this evening ...I was looking for news regarding Affinity (seeing what the press says about it) and then I discovered this article (german) http://www.heise.de/mac-and-i/meldung/iMacs-lernen-10-Bit-Farbwiedergabe-2854496.html#mobile_detect_force_desktop 1. it´s noteworthy that they mention Affinity along with PS - that says something ;) 2. my iMac 5k (just after release - one of the early ones) seems to have 10bit support now the Monitor Info says "30-Bit Farbe (ARGB2101010)" and I checked the file they provided - it looked bad in PS - after TIFF export it looked nice in Preview < they said there are not APIs available yet so the (non Apple) Apps cannot use the 10bit support yet < it´s not a real feature request as I guess Affinity will be among the first to support this API asap anyway and I noticed how slow PS is and that AP can render the gradient better than PS (or maybe I´d have to make some settings in PS but I thing dithering was turned on) But the main exiting thing is that my iMac actually got a nice upgrade through the software (otherwise I would be very angry) but thats just fine :) I also checked the file on my late 2012 MBPr and this one actually did not get 10bit support. (maybe not a huge surprise but at least I noticed the difference so I think I saw an actual improvement on the iMac and was not cheated by my eyes)
  18. Well it's shure enough that publisher will open any pdf and thus one can also switch over to the (pretended) preflight persona. Very nice that some enjoy this idea :D I enjoy the idea that I'll hopefully get to know much more about this things soon ^^
  19. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/14206-the-focus-on-ux-ui-design/?p=63893 "Sure, we could release an Illustrator-style 'rectangles in a separate list' artboard feature in a matter of days, but it's just not what you actually want and it doesn't work the way you'd like it to, so we've been making our own version and it takes a lot of engineering and thought. It's nearly done now - we're expecting it to go live in the beta version next week if all goes well :)" that was on 27. so next week would mean next week (at least the one with new exiting features)
