Where it now says "affinity photo beta" > klick > select "view"
And type in the box for "reset canvas rotation" your desired shortcut ;)
-
You can give it a custom keyboard shortcut in the preferences (under the "view" category)
-
Ok you are welcome.
Maybe it helps a bit...
-
As I said above
View > studio > snapshots
If you want to save or restore them there are certain buttons in the snapshot panel and I've once tried them and it worked but I've not used them since then so I can't tell you their names
-
I think currently they're not.
But I don't use them yet.
-
View > Studio > Snapshots
They´re now also included in the latest AD beta.
In the MAS versions it´s only in AP but will come to AD with the next update.
-
You can already create snapshots - it's just not automated yet.
I don't think it contains only a photo but it contains all current layers and adjustments that are present at that time.
But due to similar object between multiple snapshots, they're smaller than a full new save would be.
At least that's how I think they work.
-
Maybe you want an option to create a snapshot every 15min?
-
I don't think there is an auto save process. This would also potentially overwrite data that's not supposed to be changed.
But it's still strange why the recovery auto save didn't catch your changes....

I think he was confused by the fact that you have to choose one of the algorithms when exporting to jpg, png etc.

ah
so what you´re saying is that it´not clear to which artboard the cross-artboard-object would belong?
- well .... I wound´t care if the object would belong to one artboard or the other, as long as it´s visible on both artboards ;)
- and this would be possible if it would be placed at the very bottom - then it would probably be a children of artboard B
-
A_B_C already pointed me to this software and it´s great for compression!
And thank you very much for this additional hint.
-
One possibility would be to use a rectangle without a fill but with a stroke and then adjust the stroke width and color to your liking.
Make sure to turn snapping on so that the rectangle snaps to the edges of the canvas. (the magnet icon in the top bar)
I think thats the easiest way but there are plenty other options as well.
-
they only deploy the software though the App Store but I believe the MAS has a discount of 50% for educational use
-
-
Okay, A_B_C I´m share your point is valid although I didn´t quite get it....
EDIT:
now at my mac I see the picture and know what you mean but i don´t think that´s an issue because then the part of the overlapping artboards would be present in both artboards (from my logic standpoint of the alternative behavior)
But for sure there are also workarounds for "our problem" and artboards are V0.1 so we could probably look at this again when publisher is in beta or when it´s released.
-
A_B_C yes for shure
This would clearly have to be an option and not a default
But for example this would make it easy to spread a big image over several pages as a coherent background which could be a nice design (just as one example).
-
And may I add that I´d still be happy to have the skin tone line in the vector scope?
Peace :)

- how is it possible (if ever) to export PNG image "without ICC Profile", but with the same look as in Affinity Photo (that's because I'm used to change image dimensions at export, which is currently not allowed in Export persona).
>> I find that very interesting as well!!!
please bare with me if this is not what you wanted to know but....https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ICC_profile
> I´d say it´s not related to adjustment layers in any particular way

@Paekke
#4 >> you mean something like: there is a gap between the artboards and an object that can go through multiple artboards but the part that is between two artboards is "lost"
<< you want the object/ image to go over several artboards but the area between them should be ignored from the objects point of view? ;)
Like the gray part of the triangle should not get lost but be in the yellow or blue artboard.
PS: my Mac also liked dartboards more than artboards ;)
-
There´s no "time" aspect in AP (yet). And I don´t think it´s on the roadmap either.
So there is no real gif support (no animated gifs - AP (or was it AD?)can export .gif though)
btw: I´m definitely a fan of the photoshop timeline and would love such a thing in AP but this is most likely a V2 feature and I also hear that some find timeline in an photo editor totally out of place which is also understandable....but I like it ;)
-
oh thanks - maybe a double click should bring up the "edit fill" dialog?
I just searched in the help menu and well....thanks Oval!
And thanks DaveH as well :)
Great to have you devs back in the forum !

I´ve to take a look at the typography in minute!
- but I didn´t find the global colors yet - I mean they're the same as the liked colors, right? How do I set/ apply one?
-
I just tried a multi page pdf that was once created with word.
I could PM it to you or MEB if you want to but I don't need this feature in the next weeks so if you think you'll make some improvements yourself anyway, then I'll be happy to try it again with publisher and report a bug if needed ;)
And yes I selected "whole document" and it crashed just straight away ;)EDIT
I just dropped it along with some info into MEBs dropbox
- the export works for PDF X-1a (just tried this one)
- it failed for standard PDF (for export)

I think it only works when you use space + cmd because otherwise spotlight pulls up? ;)
