  1. thanks for sharing your approach!

the messed up white balance in the "before" picture actually makes the difference seem a lot bigger than it actually is

additionally I think the D&B on her face is not done very carefully, the lower part of the eye has lost any kind of structure and is just flat and at the transition towards the neck one can even see a clear cut where the dodging just suddenly stops.

and maybe use a flash or just get the exposure correct in first place to improve the actual image quality for a print or any larger publication

    hope this helps

    cheers

  2. Willkommen hier im Forum, Annetti.

    Schnellster Weg:

    1. JPG oder PNG auf das Programmicon ziehen.

    2. Datei ▹ Exportieren…

    3. Größe, Vorgabe, Neuberechnung (»Schärfe«) und Mehr checken/ändern.

    4. Exportieren und Sichern

Ein automatisierter Weg ist beispielsweise über »Export Persona« möglich.

I created further explanations/ use cases of the export persona here:

"Customers can now build their own workstations using low cost motherboards with 8 PCIe slots, extremely fast processors, massive amounts of RAM and up to 8 GPUs, which is simply not possible on any other operating system"

"By bringing DaVinci Resolve and DaVinci Resolve Studio to Linux, customers can now take advantage of the most robust, extensible, and reliable platform available."

DaVinci Resolve is now available for Linux  :)

    cheers

  4. Assign ICC profile will assign the selected profile to your document where as the SoftProofing Adjustment Layer is only used to preview how your document will look when using the selected profile. This adjustment layer will not show when exported or printed.

it will affect export, thus it is crucial to uncheck/ hide it before export

  5. Just a quick post to say I've updated Soft Proofing - it's now more comprehensive and looks at how to use gamut check (as well as exploring the rendering intent options).

    Have a good weekend!

I also made a writeup on this topic and can assure that it works really well in practice  :)

    cheers

  6. No need to convert to a TIFF - just do a Save-As to a new file, and the new file will be a streamlined version of your current one.

As has been stated, I have commented on many threads already to explain what we store in afphoto files, and how that benefits better performance for opening and iterative saves.

maybe add a preference that one can toggle so that AP always saves this streamlined version automatically when doing the normal save, the additional processing time might be acceptable on a fast computer

    cheers

  7. Been a busy week so far, but here are two more videos:

Abstract Ideas involves taking a photograph and applying filters and adjustments to create an abstract image. ProPhoto vs sRGB focuses on editing in a wider colour gamut, and how to convert that back to sRGB before exporting to ensure your images display accurately across all devices/displays. Hope you find them useful!

here is some further information about color profiles for starters

  8. I agree with others about DAM. I'd like to get away from Adobe CC, but I like the way it handles my images. However, I'm not necessarily concerned about DAM being incorporated into AP. I would be content with a standalone manager that integrates with AP.

    Is that a possibility?
