  1. well actually no, if you use the eraser on a mask or on an embedded mask of a filter like the blur filter it behaves just like black paint so to paint the effect back, just paint white the correct approach is to not use the erase brush just use black an white brushes on masks and you can also do greyscale for shadings of course you can use the same mask for a blur and for an exposure adjustment let me know if you have further questions or if you need more detailed explanations cheers

  4. thanks for sharing your approach! the messed up white balance in the "before" picture actually makes the difference seem a lot bigger than it actually is additionally I think the D&B on her face is not done very carefully, the lower part of the eye has lost any kind of structure and is just flat and at the transition towards the neck one can even see a clear cut where the dodging just suddenly stops. and maybe use a flash or just get the exposure correct in first place to improve the actual image quality for a print or any larger publication hope this helps cheers
  5. don't know what you are missing but it would not work anyway cause from the beginning of 1.5 beta, till the MAS release, till the recent beta, the filter crashes Affinity Photo and designer upon resizing destination area after matching the source points, so I really wonder how they actually created their promo video :D :P cheers
