Yeah my option differs regarding NDs but anyway not the main point here. Thanks for taking your time. -
Possible tutorial
anon1 replied to Hson278's topic in Tutorials (Serif and Customer Created Tutorials)
Pretty fantastic images But there is no miracle involved creating them Gaussian blur, bilateral blur live filter and the smudge tool will bring you a long way If you do not have an ND Filter for long exposures you can use "stacking" in AP There are tutorials for all these "names" out there so I´m sure you can find them on YouTube, Vimeo or the build in help of AP. Thanks for sharing the resource ;) nice photos -
Panorama merge already detects if the set contains multiple panorama sets and stitches them separately the same should be possible for stacks and all the merge stuff so that one can just drop in a folder and AP ends up with x different documents merged using the selected action thanks :) and please don't lock up the UI while processing :) https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/37767-parallel-processing-pano-vs-rest/

Affinity Photo Customer Beta - 1.5.2.62
anon1 replied to Mark Ingram's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on Windows threads
exiftool, metadata, new python every time, reuse the python instance when loading multiple RAWs there was something about this, remember? I can't find the thread anymore but you wanted to optimize this to speed up RAW loading by a very noticeable margin is this also the same for the Mac version? thanks for your effort and PLEASE don't let this "some fixes" which is also written into the last Mac betas become a new habit  -
Computer upgrade
anon1 replied to DGM40's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
well AP is not looking very well on 6 or 8 core processor utilization either to be honest just looked at it again, I mean a 8 core i7-5960X is currently the fastest performer and also has an efficiency of 54 which is pretty good for a windows built so that is not a bad utilization 8 and 6 cores are at a 40 efficiency whereas 2 and 4 cores are at a 50 efficiency averaged between Mac and win although the data on 6 and 8 cores is thin, counting only 4 machines (anyone here running one?) https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1N2tnxSuK0MD2un17toAGFhPFJexU2fE27JPVBg3HPuk/pubhtml# #AP performance -
Computer upgrade

one thing that is important for cores > 4 or 6 is the lower clock speed. Gamers don't like this but also your firefox or chrome or some other applications will perform better on higher GHz rather than more cores (given the same generation of processors, a new processor with less GHz can have better performance than an older one with higher clock speed) ...nice video about it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVyA-T2lNNk mostly nice looking and old :D :P -

....but you are using AP, or is this what you are referring to? (could not hold back, sorry :D :P ) btw definitely think that 6 or 8 core is the new 4 core in the future (not yet) -
Golden Ratio in logo design?
anon1 replied to johnd's topic in Tutorials (Serif and Customer Created Tutorials)
to me theses pictures mostly look like randomly drawn circles without much relation to golden ratios could be my lack of understanding but their position and size does not really match, just pick the pink box on the apple logo and the green circles, does not match up at all as far as I can see lol :D :P or the twitter one, there is no ratio at all  could be the size of the circles but could just as well be the surface-volume or circumference ....this just seems like designers wanting to introduce pseudo science to impress (or confuse) others I just find it amusing (until I may notice that it was actually my fault :P :D ) -
Let HSL adjustment work with LAB color
anon1 replied to zabouti's topic in Older Feedback & Suggestion Posts
most certainly both your request is interesting and valid but I still don't get it, sorry. I mean, you can use LAB already ... Could you make one more attempt? :D  -
Working with RAW files
anon1 replied to kayjay's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
however you can take every pixel layer and go into the RAW Edit persona again you can not adjust the old settings but you can use the same tools (except white balance in K which is not possible for technical reasons) you are used to in the RAW persona this does not work if your document is in greyscale format -
