  1. why did you design the highlights and shadows in such a weird way? modifying the curves leads to a black spot at about 80% and a brighter stripe at 100 and 50% this is not actually highlights Highlights are usually the upper third of the tonal range and their curvature/ coverage has two be designed in a way such that highlight+shadow+midtones produces a 100% coverage of all tones
  2. yeah someday would be definitely great but first please proper color selection and some other smaller fixes https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/29693-non-destructive-color-rangehsl-selectionkeying/?p=189903 however if you revisit HDR persona, exposing the sliders for macros (which definitely deserve a revisit sooner) would be sweet as well
  3. I've got that Siri thing deactivated, to annoying, sorry :D :P
  4. T- shirt looks amazing  thanks so much :) delivery time perfectly matched the install of AD on my iPad :D wish you all a #happyDay https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/38171-rotate-pages-happyday/
  5. pages, also known as tools-panels can be moved, docked, collapsed already but when working on my laptop in a relaxed fashion I always find their orientation a bit uncomfortable it would be extremely useful to also be able to rotate these panels like one can rotate the canvas in unbounded floating precision to accommodate for the current "working angle" of my body relative to the couch cheers :D  :)
  6. the basic idea is 1 you add a black layer 2 you add noise 3 you add motion blur to get rain-stripes instead of noise-dots 4 you set a blend mode which makes the black invisible and leaves the white rain stripes 5 you duplicate the rain and resize to add depth, larger rain towards the camera and smaller rain In the background, therefore you can also add masks and use curves or something else to modify the overall mood of the image to actually look rainy/ dark cheers //for more tips, KLICK <<
  7. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/10141-licensing-how-many-computers/?p=43647 that is where I got the info but maybe they changed it
  8. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/16419-advantages-over-photoshop/?p=165704 well actually not everyone and Paolo is especially someone :D :P "For my profession I need both PS and AI and there is no chance to have this combo other than grabbing the full subscription, that includes applications that I'm going to pay but I don't need at all... "
  9. double the price of Affinity Designer though (just somehow skewed relations) but I need something of this kind at some point as well so thanks for the hint I was looking at RightFontApp a while back when they also had a discount and introduced this sort of compatibility with AD but anyhow did not convince me at that time
  10. I mean IF Affinity would open their file format, it would be best to directly find a common way with other apps so maybe just use the sketch format. However this will most likely not be very feasible considering many proprietary "features" by the way, I just came across this plugin for sketch https://github.com/ImageOptim/Sketch-plugin where ImageOptim is a wonderful app https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/37398-guetzli-a-new-open-source-jpeg-encoder/?p=185567 I think such a plugin implementation in AD/ AP is much more feasible it has nothing to do with an open file format, but it has something to do with bringing AD onto the same playground as sketch
  11. cheers great to see others enjoying his work as well I covered some aspects of LAB over here as well https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/22011-learn-lab/?p=105622 AP now also has a decent apply image filter https://vimeo.com/192598897 https://vimeo.com/192599146 which is still somewhat in a raw state....but works did not mean to hijack your thread , sorry PS: if you convert to ProPhoto and make your correction in there, I think you might not notice any difference although technically there might be a slight loss (if I remember correctly that was also what Dan said, he even said 8bit LAB is useful :) )
  12. https://www.gnu.org/software/coreutils/manual/html_node/Toolbox-introduction.html affinity has started on Mac, not Windows so I'll quote GNU as this is not Mac but it somewhat resembles it, still one can use most gnu software on Mac as well cheers
  13. got it, thanks ! I think this is a separate (and also very interesting) feature request maybe this is kind of a niche case so although it is very interesting I would not count on an implementation any time soon something like "apple color palette to image" and it is fairly similar in terms of it's algorithm to this request https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/23172-pantone-picker/ "We have a .png of their logo, now usually on photoshop I would use the colour picker and then go to the colour library and it would tell me which is the nearest Pantone to my selection." maybe you want to cross reference it in that thread or search for other similar requests to get a better understanding of how likely an implementation might be and feature request should generally go here https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/forum/6-feature-requests/ otherwise the devs will probably not see them or at least forget them much faster cheers
  14. guess how much better this would be in a node based environment  https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/15873-coming-2016-32bit-hdr-editing-sneak-preview/?p=81085
  15. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMcJ1Jvtef0 you need to klick the "Link" button while creating a post, the forum does not handle pasted links very well :D pretty cool guy in this video  doing amazing imagery but I don't understand what you want to say? Can you further a bit in how this is related to this feature, how to achieve it? cheers
  16. I mean...what else do you want? :D I'd argue that AP is not Instagram and such weird filters should not be applied but like you mentioned the use for others "creative" options, that is valid for sure. no please keep posting :) sometimes you have to rattle for a long time :D :P if you think your request really is that important :) (see this thread, it went a looooooooooong way [21 000 views, 200 replies, TWO YEARS] until it succeeded https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/1554-multi-add-a-lighterbrighter-ui-mode/?p=150121 ) cheers B)
  17. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/28227-edit-360-degree-images-lose-quality/ think this is already logged as a bug
