  1. https://github.com/lra/mackup that would work I've just set it up for capture one and other stuff and think it is great Affinity is missing though but we could add it
  2. this is actually already available Complementary Split Complementary Analogous Accented Analogic Triadic Tetradic Square Tints Shades Tones The 'UI' is quite crude though
  3. but maybe you would like to clone parts of the mask of an adj. layer? maybe give other examples :D :P like showing a warning when a document is being opened and a selection is active
  4. that is pretty much the exact result of the smudge tool you can adjust Strength to 100% and flow sth. like 2% ... works
  5. You can set your layer blend mode to soft light and then use a 50% grey brush Or you can use the eraser with low opacity and hardnes Or the smudge tool (there are also some smudge tool brushes from Paolo available) Not really sure what the other tool that you mention does differently
  6. I made some curves adjustments for AD and AP which I'd like to share with you. the attached Affinity file features embedded documents so that you can easily preview the effect of all curves on a single photo and then choose a curve that fits best/ gives you a good starting point/ idea. You can add them to your AP though opening the document, selecting each group, selecting the "curves" adj, so that it's panel opens up, click "add preset". (I've made a feature request to make that easier) You can then access them by the "view > studio > adjustments" panel which is active by default (only available in AP) please don't overdo it blend modes, opacity and blend ranges can, and should be adjusted upon your needs for more information about such techniques you can have a look over here https://affinity.ser...er-amateur-pro/ cheers PS: similar presets for the "channel mixer" are available here PS: similar presets for "LUT" adj. are available here PS: here is a great resource to really understand curves EDIT: just added some Black and White adjustments too FWIW >> curves mix.afdesign << >> BW mix.afdesign <<
  7. when you click "add preset" and the layer has a name, AP/ AD should use that name of the layer and pre-enter it into the name field of the new preset, it should be highlighted (like when you go cmd + l in your browser) so that "enter" just creates that preset and "typing sth. new" would override that predefined name thanks
  8. I made some channel mixer adjustments for AD and AP which I'd like to share with you. You can add them to your AP though opening the document, selecting each group, selecting the "channel mixer" adj, so that it's panel opens up, click "add preset". (I've made a feature request to make that easier) You can then access them by the "view > studio > adjustments" panel which is active by default (only available in AP) These are a bit "Instagram like" so please don't overdo it, blend modes, opacity and blend ranges can, and should be adjusted upon your needs for more information about such techniques you can have a look over here https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/37125-ap-ad-beginner-amateur-pro/ cheers channel mix.afdesign PS: similar presets vor curves are available here PS: similar presets for "LUT" adj. are available here
  9. the calibrated monitor thing is irrelevant because we're talking about differences between AP and PS on the same PC not differences between PC and Print if you apply the ICC up front or later is a choice of workflow and comes with certain advantages or disadvantages but it is both a workflow that should produce consistent results with other software that claims to utilize the same precision in color management furthermore calibrated monitors are not the only way to get good colors and calibrated monitors alone don't suffice either but that is not the point here @David I've responded here https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/38499-setup-for-photo-print-using-embed-icc/?p=192109
  10. and also add inpaint missing areas, like in the panorama section
  11. Maybe not bad if you have an old body. Things like a6000 or XT1 or A7ii don't seem to be included. But 6D, 70D 5Diii seem to be good e.g. http://www.dxo.com/us/news/dxo-optics-pro-v911-supports-six-new-cameras-including-nikon-df-and-sony-alpha-7
  12. I think the customer betas expire after sometime and won't load anyway, so you can trash them. that is how it is on Mac at least pretty much 100% sure the public beta won't run anymore as well
