  1. I really must take the time to learn this suite, I bought the books after all. It's always the same for the occasional user, it takes us years to learn the basics. Cheers, Ian
  2. Thank you Garry - I have just had a quiet weep in the corner and now realise the association between the "brushes" and "paintbrush". I guess, I have been using the default brush on the edits to date without realising it! Many thanks once again, Ian
  3. No idea what I have done but ... I have been picking colours, assigning them and using them without any problems. This morning I created a custom brush and used that to paint in some detail. Since then I have not been able to assign a colour to the paintbrush, it permanently has the custom brush assigned. I have deleted the custom brush, I have restarted Photo. I have reset Photo. I have re-installed Photo. I have created a new document, try and pick a colour but that brush is still there. All of the above and I still cannot get rid of that **** custom brush. I will re-start the machine (as suggested) when a long sql update has completed. I suspect I am missing something fundamental here as I haven't done much with Affinity to date? brush.webm
  4. I have moved the url's around the page to test and they work as expected. The selection area on the mouse click appears to be the problem and I get why, confusion on which object received the click! However, disabling the function is a solution in this instance. Thanks for the help, Ian
  5. OK, tried that, in several varieties but it doesn't work for me. However I have managed to set them so they are automatically seen as URL's and take the 'clicker' off to the wrong site. I see what you mean about being at an angle, the 'selection' by mouse highlights an area covering all four URL's, is this confusing the pdf as the text is now correct within the design for each URL? If I get the chance I will move the URL's further apart later and see if that clears the issue. Regards, Ian
  6. Ah, gotcha - many, many thanks. I shall see if doing it properly fixes the issue I have to say the three Affinity products are a sterling effort, I don't do much of this type of work and when I do it's usually a voluntary effort. It is a learning curve but fun (I don't say that much these days when it comes to software). Thanks once again, Ian
  7. Thanks for that Bruce, you may have spotted I'm not a designer and Affinity is all very new to me. I'm a Windows developer so I don't use Mac. I cannot find anything on Interactive or Hyperlink in either the UI or Help file. If there is nothing in the afpub file then I guess it's a windows function or even some Adobe function trying to be clever? Cheers, Ian
  8. The output looks absolutely fine and it's fast to export but if you look at the bottom of the page you will see four url's and they seem to take the link of the last url entered whilst editing the page. A user proofing said they got the Henage site (that was the last url I typed in). I have since edited the Dog Inn, I deleted the url and re-typed. All of the links now point to the Dog Inn. I hope that makes some sense? Cheers, Ian A5_notebook.pdf A5_notebook.afpub
  9. Many thanks for that Walt. I did spend a good twenty minutes using help "line spacing" (well there is a first time for everything) and various paragraph settings .... but not that one! I am so used to seeing the term "line spacing" I had actually forgotten the term "leading". A daft mistake I know but there is space for a graphic which might just have switched on another brain cell, that said I now know so thank you. Regards, Ian
  10. I am an occasional user of this type of product and my experience in mostly around Corel. I point this out as I am probably missing something. Putting together a tri-fold with text frames (Tahoma and Windows OS) and I want to increase the line spacing as it's looking a bit cramped. I have tried editing a style and applying it but ... I just cannot find a line spacing setting, can someone put me out of my misery please? I must admit I am impressed with the stability of this product, I would quite happily buy it now! All the best, Ian
