I just downloaded 2.4.0.2222 and opened a file. When I try to ungroup a grouped piece it closes down the program completely. Tried it twice and same thing happened both time. When I open it again it's like I had never opened it previously. Thanks Scott

Is there a way to set the units to default to inches instead of mm? Every time I start a project I have to go in and remember to reset the units. Thanks

Guess I have to live with it. I can enter 90 into the export but when I save it, it just saves it exactly the same as 96 (same measurements) It didn't change anything. Thanks for the help anyway and I will work with it as is and adjust in the other program. Hopefully at some point they will fix this.

Thanks for the reply. I did go back and read all the others on this topic. Didn't find them when I searched earlier. In any case, I tried another test. I made an image at 4" x 4.75". Transferring it at 96 gave me one 4.27" x 5.07" . Tried same image at 72 and I got 3.2" x 3.8". If i extrapolate those correctly seems like I should be using 90. But it won't let me put in a manual DPI. Well, it lets me put it in but seems to revert back to 96 (since it's closer I assume) and saves it again at that size. Thoughts???

I am creating designs in Affinity design and then need to export to a digitizing software. It only takes SVG files which is fine and I export the Affinity file as an SVG file but when I open it in the digitizing software it has reduced the size of the image significantly. As an example from a 6"x6" size image to a .1" x .1" size image. Any reason for this? I am able to resize it to the correct size in the digitizing software but obviously it would be easier to have it come in at the right size. BTW I have created the image in other draw programs, exported as SVG and opened in the digitizing software and it comes up as the original size created. It only seems to reduce the size when I use Affinity. Thanks for any help

OK, I went back into apple store and downloaded the whole app again and it seems to have worked to get it back onto my computer. Never said there was an update but it now says it is 1.10. Although when I look at the photo app there still is no "update" available. Weird. Guess I'll just wait and see what happens with the other apps. Thanks

OK, it looks like I only bought publisher from the Affinity store so I must have bough designer and photo from the apple store. Now what?

OK, I need help. I followed above and downloaded the new update. It asked if I wanted to replace the existing so I said yes. But now when i open my program it asks for a product key or offering a ten day trial like I've never had this before. I am afraid that I lost the original software and I don't know my product key from the previous purchase. Also I don't know if I purchased it from Affinity or Apple store. How can I find that out? Sorry but I'm really lost here. thanks BTW, when I went into designer originally it did not ask to update. Also there was no "check for updates" in the menu.

thank you. I went back and checked and I did buy designer and photo from the apple store but bought publisher from you. So that's the reason for the difference. thanks

I have purchased publisher, designer, and photo and installed on desktop. And also designer on my laptop. My laptop died and I had to buy a new one. I am wanting to download on my new laptop but when I go to download and keys on my account the only one that shows up as an option is publisher. Designer and photo do not show up at all. I don't know how to get it it downloaded to my new laptop. Thanks

I have had the same problem in a sense. I can print an entire file but if I try to print one board it crashes every time. Are they fixing this bug? It did not happen before the upgrade.

Is there a way to create patterns to use in Affinity Designer? I used to do this when I used Illustrator for work but can't find any way to do it in Designer. Does this exist? Thanks

So would I use "add registration color"? Seems like the only other option I have. Would that work on a systems palette?

I want to create a color palette on my computer that I can reuse over and over in different documents. I tried to "add a system palette" which creates an empty palette and I can name it but then as soon as I hit add a global color it switches it automatically to document palette and I can't figure out a way to get the color into the system palette. Is there a way to do this that I am missing? Thanks

OK, I tried it in the develop persona and it does exactly the same thing. Once I try to increase the canvas it skews the original photo back to the original angle.

This was done in the photo persona. Should I have done it in the development persona? I tried uploading screen shots twice and both times it failed.

I just joined Affinity and am on my first photo project. I want to straighten a photo and then add a border around it (increase canvas size). I straighten just fine with the tool and love it but when I try to increase the canvas it does it at the angle of the original photo. If I increase the canvas first and then straighten, it only straightens the photo but not the entire document so it's at an angle again. How do I do this? Thanks
