Cesco reacted to nravenlock in How to export objects that are placed (partially) outside the visible area ?
    @Cesco

Select all the objects on your page first (from the Select menu, click Select All) and then in the Export dialog choose Selection without background from the Area pop-up menu. This may result in the PSD page size being larger than intended.

However, I'm a little confused. Why not simply export when the sun is fully showing? Why move it off the page before exporting, if you wish to move it around in the PSD afterward anyway?

    Thanks.

Cesco reacted to MattP in Affinity Designer Customer Beta (1.5 - Beta 6)
    Status: Beta Release
    Purpose: New features, fixes
    Requirements: Purchased Affinity Designer
    Mac App Store: Not Submitted
    Download: Here

This is an early beta of a substantial change to our codebase and as much as we have tried to ensure the quality of the code, it should be considered to be not suitable for production use. This means that you should not attempt to use it for commercial purposes or for any other activity that you may be adversely affected by the application failing. In addition it is definitely worth noting that files created in Affinity 1.5 cannot be opened in 1.4 so always make a copy of your important documents before opening them in 1.5 to ensure you do not accidentally overwrite them and are unable to open them in your 1.4 version.

To use this beta, simply download the file from the link given above and double-click on the file to open the installer. Follow the instructions to install the beta version. The beta sits alongside the Mac App Store version and will not interfere with it.

    Fixes/Improvements:
Fix for certain fonts causing startup crashes (hopefully!) Fix for Node and Pen Tools not working correctly at silly zooms. Asset collections can now be embedded in documents. If the document is given to another user, they will be asked if they wish to install the assets if they haven't already installed them: This is the start of being able to distribute assets easily to users inside a demonstration file showing their usage. Changed text alignment to use Command+Option+L and Command+Option+R to avoid the existing keyboard shortcut clash. PDF import fix for password-protected PDFs. Deleting nodes on stroke pressure profiles now works correctly with Delete key. Minor bug fixes and stability issues.

This is an awesome addition to 1.5, I'm so glad it's finally here! It's one of those things I've had to get on with but colour picking has always been a chore in affinity. Now no longer thankfully!

As always I have some suggestions for this new tool:
I would vote "I" for the shortcut, it's the one everyone knows, but I'm sure you've heard that a dozen times this week I'd say, swap the dropper cursor over for a crosshair for more accurate picking. A modifier (or straight up toggle) to bring up the magnifying loupe would be killer, we've had it up until now with the current method, it'd be a shame for the dedicated tool to be less functional. COLOUR GATHERING! Anyone who has used xScope will know this one, but having a modifier for click to add the colour under the loupe to the currently open palette(Or straight to the document palette) would be aces! Super aces in fact. Mega fast palette building FTW. As always, keep up the sterling work.

Obviously I've added Italian at the bottom, that's where USA should be for you:

And in the Status Bar, that's what you switch between:

    Hope this helps.

I have a computer with a Japanese keyboard, one with a Chinese keyboard and one with an English keyboard, so I know your pain.

Lemme know how you get on.

    Goto (on your Mac)

Settings > Keyboard > Input Sources

Bottom left of this panel is a + & - symbol for adding keyboards.

    Click the +

    Choose USA Keyboard.

It should show you where (on your keyboard) you can now enter the [ and ] keys.

Before you close out of here, be sure that

"Show Input menu in menu bar" is ticked, you'll need this.

    Now exit out of here.

Restart Affinity Designer, you probably won't need to restart your computer.

Once in Affinity Designer, enter some text in Italian.

Now goto the top right of your computer's screen, you should see an Italian flag or something else similar indicating you're using the Italian keyboard.

Click this, and it will drop down a list of options of other keyboards to choose.
    Pick the USA keyboard.

See if that makes the shortcuts work.

If it does... then you can use Apple Script to write a keyboard shortcut that switches you between these keyboard settings instantly so you can make this a little less painful.

Sorry, I can't find how to upload images to show you this.
