  1. Been there, done that. At one time I had to build those horrid DB-25 cables - I mean the 25-conductor version, not the cheap printer-only kind - if I look closely I can probably still find some burn scars on my fingertips. Ain't USB grand?
  2. I've got two monitors as well so I tried to reproduce this. Here's what I tried: I mapped the tablet to monitor 1, moved AD to that monitor and tested it floating and full-screen. I then repeated this on monitor 2. I then mapped the tablet to both monitors and repeated the above on both monitors, then with AD maximized across both monitors. In all cases AD performed as expected. I've got tablet software version 1.6.1.1918 installed on Win 10 Pro with fairly recent Nvidia drivers. What version of the tablet software are you using?
  3. IOMega? Yeah, adding a new SCSI device was always an adventure (or nightmare, depending on your particular experience). I had a SCSI scanner, but fortunately it was an HP and weighed as much as a small truck, so it didn't go anywhere. I think the worst were GPIB (IEEE-488) instrument cables, an HP invention that became a widely used standard. The way HP built things you'd think they were German! Their stuff lasted forever, you could tow a car with those cables (perhaps literally). I used that thick, foamy 3-M double-stick tape for decades, until the invention of stick-on Velcro. I still use it today to hold my WiFi router, a 16-port Ethernet switch and a power-strip to the side of a bookshelf. I've also got my cable modem Velcro'd to my desk, as is a holder for pencils, glasses, rulers and such.
  4. Your problems are different than mine, but may be related. In my case, when I switched tools the tool's cursor would not appear. I see you have Windows Ink disabled at the tablet level, as I did. Disabling it at the OS level did the trick for me. Here's how: https://www.top-password.com/blog/disable-windows-ink-workspace-in-windows-10/
  5. I didn't think I did either, but it seems one of the Win 10 updates changed things, or perhaps it's enabled by default.
  6. If you're on Windows try disabling Windows Ink. This solved my Deco 03 problems.
  7. When I'm retouching an image, I get to a certain point, and I'm happy with the bit I'm working on, I'd like to be able to clear the history list before I move to the next task. I need this because I can't tell you how many times I've undone too far and it's hard to 'find my place' in the list. This is especially true when applying effects softly with many tiny strokes or dabs; you can add dozens of items to the list before you realize you've taken the wrong approach.
  8. Better yet, an API so that any external controller can be supported without Affinity intervention.
  9. What was it you were looking for? Intellisense is a feature of Visual Studio, Microsoft's software development studio neither of which is part of Windows. If you're interested, Visual Studio is available in a free Community Edition which is almost identical to the licensed Pro version. I was frightened by an equation as a small child and have, sadly, never recovered.
  10. I'm interested in a device like this as well, perhaps something smaller than Loupedeck. All I really need are a couple of rotary encoders and buttons - something like this (still not shipping): It would be nice if it were pre-configured for Affinity products, but if the device is configurable it may be possible to use it without Affinity intervention. An alternative may be to use a 3rd party tool like AutoIt to do the integration. I haven't looked into this - do you think that's feasible (necessary technical expertise aside)?
  11. I'd like to be able to add notes to my files - I know I can do that now by adding a text layer but I'd like something more streamlined. I'd like to add notes to layers and groups, and perhaps a general top-level overview document as well. SMOP (Small Matter Of Programming) .
  12. Since you brought this up: why sRGB rather than Adobe RGB? I've been using Adobe RGB because (I thought) it accommodated more colors.
  13. Hey, that's perfect - I only need two. Thanks again. Edit: I just added the commands my tablet's wheel. Cool beans!
  14. Thank you both! I've only been using AP for a few weeks - so much yet to learn! Do you know if there's a way to assign switching between views to a shortcut?
  15. When I'm zoomed in working on an image, I need to zoom out occasionally to see the overall effect. Fit to Screen is great for this, but how do I get back to my original zoom level and screen position? How about a new feature: Re-zoom. When I pressed Fit to Screen, AP would record my screen position and zoom level; then pressing Re-zoom would put me right back where I was. Quick, efficient and (I imagine) easy to implement.
  16. When I'm retouching a photo I tend to swap brushes to get various textures. When I do this brush parameters change and I have to readjust size, hardness and so on when all I really want is a different brush texture. Please give me a way to change retain brush parameters when changing brushes.
  17. Thanks; that would work if I weren't changing brush sizes so often. I haven't looked yet, but I wonder if I could create a brush that would not change size. Some brushes change flow, for example, while others don't.. Edit: It looks like I was wrong - all brushes appear to set all parameters when selected so this doesn't appear to be a workaround. I hope there's another way...
  18. I'm practicing retouching a photo and changing between 2 brushes, but every time I do I have to resize the brush (etc). Is there some way to prevent my brush size (etc) from changing when I change a brush?
  19. - sorry, couldn't find gold stars. Is that equation-based? I'm curious - how did you learn the math required to produce the texture in your example? Do you have a math background? On a more fundamental level, what are textures used for? I've seen them applied for artistic effect in some of the AP tutorials, but surely there's more use for them in AP. I've played briefly with the Lighting Filter, but only for a few minutes - perhaps textures interact with this light? So much to learn!
  20. But if you do, Ctrl-Z (or whatever undo is on the Mac) to the rescue .
  21. I'm right there with you . It's not only possible, it should be pretty easy to do - just change the increment value to match the numeric edit's range when the wheel is scrolled. I'm sure they'll get to this - SMOP (small matter of programming).
